Ordered a Griglia Chicken Pizza (traditional pizza with balsamic marinated grilled chicken and roasted red peppers - $20.95) and a Caprese Salad (fresh mozzarella, sliced roma tomato, fresh basil and roasted red peppers over romaine and red leaf lettuce - $10.95) for pickup on an early Saturday evening for pick up and was told the order would be ready in "15-20 minutes." Arrived in 15 minutes and everything was ready. The staff was friendly. The pizza had a nice sauce and the chicken was fine; the crust was too thick and doughy for our likes. The salad was a bit above average, but nothing particularly spectacular. We were visiting family in Basking Ridge and this was an easy dinner option. Don't think this would be a go to pizzeria for us.

Have eaten here seven or eight times. Food (Heavy Italian influence),is consistently very good, service is attentive. Two of my favorites are their homemade meat lasagna and their pork braciole, which is an occasional nightly special. Favorite desert is their homemade chocolate tartufo. Only reason I did not give it a 5 is that on weekends during prime time it can be somewhat noisy. Acoustics are not very good. Acoustics or now , food & service keep me going back.

Don't let the size of this restaurant deter you from stopping. The meals and ambiance were great. Ate outside under the heat lamps and thoroughly enjoyed it. Be sure to try the Veal Azzurro and Tiramisu.

IL Monello brings expert technique and impeccable service to the authentic cuisine of the Abruzzo region of Italy. Voted the #1 restaurant in New Jersey in the Gazzette for 7 years, Il Monello offers the most authentic dishes and brings the taste of Italy
Visited Il Monello this week with friends. It was the first time there for all of us. We had a reservation, arrived on time & were immediately welcomed by chef/? Owner, Martino, who escorted us to our beautifully set table, where our friends were seated. He really makes you feel right at home & is very personable. On the table were small plates of spicy eggplant caponata, slices of Italian sausage & a basket of Italian breads, some toasted. They then shave a large, thin slice of Parmesan reggiano from the biggest cheese wheel Iâve ever seen! I had the chicken saltimboca special, which was excellent 7 served with accompanying quartet roasted potatoes, carrots & broccoli florets. My husband enjoyed a veal special & our friends ordered the branzino. We ordered cappuccino, tiramisu, which light & yummy & the ricotta cheesecake. Itâs a byob restaurant, which is great. Will definite return!

This smallish, clean and casual Italian place is located in a historic building right across from the Presbyterian Church with the 600-year old White Oak Tree. It is obviously a favorite for the locals.Their sign outside says that it is âcomfort foodâ, and we found this to be very true. Their very large-sized Menu offers quite a varied selection of items. Their starter bread with butter was hot out of the oven â just the way we like it. For the Main Course, the four of us ordered a Panini Caprese, a Brooklyn Sub, a Turkey-Swiss Panini and a small Stromboli with Marinara sauce. Three of the dishes were excellent, but the Caprese was just OK. It was certainly edible, but, in the Pita sandwich, there was a just a thin slice of Mozzarella instead of the thick, fresh one that we are used to. Plus there were too many tomatoes and not enough Basil. Not too much of an issue â just our opinion. Our food was delicious, the Salads were fresh and crispy, and the well-made Marinara dipping sauce was a perfect accompaniment to the huge Stromboli. Our server, Ruben, was polite, friendly and attentive, and the décor of the nicely lit brick-walled dining room felt homey with tons of pictures and cute sayings. We were here for a late lunch after a short hike in a neighboring Park. We would have ordered less food had we known how humongous the portions were. We left with enough food for another meal. No one can go wrong for two meals at that price point. Our first impression of this place was positive, and we would love to return on our next trip to Basking Ridge.
The nondescript storefront conceals the best kept secret in Bernardsville. They have the best bolognese sauce in town. And that is just the beginning. Pizza is the best in town and fairly priced. The typical Italian fare is well-prepared. Other dishes, such as the seafood pasta are consistently great and travel well. The owner will hand out free brownies with some take out orders, giving a little flair to the place. This place is nothing like what was there under the two or three prior owners. This is a hidden gem on Claremont.

The "sub shop" name is a misnomer. This is a bona fide Italian restaurant. The pizzas are excellent to be sure, and the variety of selection outstanding. But the pasta fagioli is one of the best I've ever had and the nightly specials (including a pasta, chicken and seafood selection) are excellent. They do mussels well, the fried calamari is excellent and their puttanesca sauce is authentic. The only criticism I might have is their Caesar salad is rather plain. Prices are reasonable and there is adequate indoor seating. Lenny's is a "go to" place for the locals.

Nicoletta is the Altamarea Group's homage to Chef Michael White's favorite childhood dish: pizza. Indulge in hand-tossed specialty pies or create your own; every pizza is made fresh to order. Nicoletta also offers a variety of crave-worthy snacks, handmad
We ordered two great pizzas for takeout, One had fennel sausage and mushrooms, and the other had pepperoni, red onions, fennel sausage. Thin crust perfectly cooked. We also got rigatoni with really great meatballs. Tried their salad misto with fennel and grilled shrimp. All delicious.

Chef Michael White shares the authentic Italian dining experience with the Garden State at Osteria Morini New Jersey. Located in Bernardsville, Morini pays homage to the soulful cuisine and convivial spirit of the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The menu,
We have celebrated countless birthdays and anniversaries at Osteria Morini; it's always been our family's location of choice for such events. In addition, Osteria Morini has been a go-to for lazy Sunday dinners when no one wants to cook. Until recently, we've always enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. Our past three experiences (over the past six months) have been substandard. Orders are taken and processed incorrectly; food is delivered at varying times; waitstaff vaporize and are nowhere to be found when an issue arises; and food often is served lukewarm or cold (you can see plates from the open kitchen sitting under heat lamps for what seems like an eternity awaiting table delivery). Their signature pasta, garganelli in a truffle cream sauce has gone from wonderful and light to a pasty mass of pseudo alfredo mush. We're huge fans of Michael White's NYC restaurants but Osteria Morini in Bernardsville is now off our list for local dining.Hello, and thank you so much for taking the time to write this review. I'm sorry that you haven't enjoyed your recent experiences at Osteria Morini in Bernardsville. Executive Chef Allan Philip Russo's highly acclaimed restaurant Sette resides in prestigious countryside Bernardsville, New Jersey. Nationally recognized as "One of the Top 100 Best Restaurants in the United States" by OpenTable, a status rating of "Excel
As the subject of my review states-- I see why this is the #1 restaurant (according to TripAdvisor) in Bernardsville. The service was excellent and I believe in part because the physical restaurant itself is rather small. Being in such an intimate atmosphere meant that the wait staff were very involved and expressed their attention to detail. In terms of food, it was also outstanding. I started with a creative take on a beet salad (picture attached)-- thinly sliced with capers, white onion, scallions, and I believe it was jicima slices on top. My main entree consisted of two sea bass filets over greens and topped with tomato, and pickled onions. Loved how quaint and how much of a hole in a wall it was (in downtown Bernardsville) -- it makes you feel the exclusivity. It must fill up fast for dinners! Can't wait to return!
