In 1972, Houlihan's first opened its doors in Kansas City with an eclectic menu and energetic bar scene. Ferns hung throughout, artifacts cluttered the walls, tapestries made by San Francisco hippies formed the ceiling. It was hot. Fast forward a few deca
Our first visit here. Nice atmosphere; comfy booths. Not too noisy; although music can be toned down a bit. Extensive menu - it'll take you 5 minutes to peruse through it - there is something for everyone. Fantastic bar drinks! Everything looks good especially when you are hungry. Potato skins for appetizer gobbled like light speed! I ordered the scallops with risotto and that was excellent. My son had their pot roast which was also great. Good size portions. Some meals are pricey, some are not - depends what you order. Definitely safe bet and best of all they're open late. Definitely will return. We're so happy you enjoyed your visit and appreciate the feedback. Thanks, and we hope to see you again soon. - Ag

I had a workman/friend work with me packing for a move. We went here for lunch and sat at the bar. I've been in here many times with adult son who works in design for the craft beer industry. He loves their craft beer selections!!I got an Industrial IPA (great) and Tony, the lovely Irishman who works the bar, let me have a taste prior to ordering a whole drink. He is a hoot and joked and kidded with us, Tony is worth the trip!I got their fish and chips they were OUTSTANDING! CRISP! GREAT! Friend got the chicken pot pie and really enjoyed that and also ate one of my pieces of fish and pronounced it 'great!' THIS is a friendly, old-time bar with great food and nice casual place.

Went here for lunch with family, one had the French onion soup that they are famous for and said it was excellent. I had fish tacos which was very good also. The place is very cozy place. Will definitely be back.

Maxfield's on Main; Music House and Kitchen - A rustic firehouse, painstakingly restored to is original grandeur, featuring world class entertainment and small plates.
We were told it was busy (had to book) and there was live jazz on Wednesdays. We were 4 of only 7 people in the whole place, the music was 2 50 year olds individually playing guitars and singing their own songs slightly out of tune. The food was poor, the service was fine - not recommended

Excellent food & service. I had 1/2 dozen cocktail shrimp and they were large and perfectly cooked; some of the best I've ever had. I also had the crab & avocodo salad which was large and very tasty. My husband had a shrimp salad which he said was excellent. This restaurant has a sports bar atmosphere (many t.v.'s), many types of beer on tap & by bottle, They have many options on the menu, with (as expected) many seafood options & wings. They appear to be very popular with locals and were packed on the Saturday night when we visited. Despite the large crowd, service was prompt & friendly. If we lived in the area we would make a point of coming here often!

We live in town but finally gave this place a try after hearing rave reviews about it, especially the pizza. The staff here are friendly, our waiter was very attentive for a busy Saturday. Our appetizers, oysters and fried calamari were delicious. We ordered some entrees and some pizzas to sample. My brother tried the cowboy steak special and it was excellent. I loved the regular cheese pizza. The pizza is served thin crust style, so I wouldnât recommend ordering heavy toppings on it as the white pie was weighed down and a bit undercooked. The dessert menu is huge, my mom tried the Creme brûlée and it was great. The only thing I could not get past is there is a musty, mold like smell that hits you as soon as you enter the restaurant and lingered until the dining room got full.

Outdoor tables are available on what was the passenger platform of this former railroad station. As walk ins on a Friday evening we were seated promptly. The food was good and the service was friendly. There is limited parking right at the restaurant, but there are other options nearby.

Very much a locals place, we've always loved to sit at the bar and here, we have never had the opportunity. Its always full. They have a few tvs for watching sports and a full food menu, but most go here for the pizza. Our server was pretty nice and did a good job as we came in on a Monday night towards the end of service. Pizza was on point and my wife is still talking about how good it is the next day.
