Make Huddle House your local restaurant for all you dining needs. We are open daily from 6 AM to Midnight 7 days a week serving all your southern American favorites from Breakfast, Lunch & dinner.
I was born, reared and educated in Newark, New Jersey. I call it the city of my nativity, nascence and nurture. I remember the tanks, armored personnel carriers and troops armed with carbines with bayonets fixed deployed during the "public reaction to official disorder" of 1967. I was seven then, and watched the city and its surrounding towns plummet I now live in one of the recovering towns, East Orange. I applauded the arrival in early 2016 of Huddle House, a chain which I have been told began in Atlanta, Georgia (USA). I have yet to do my own research on the chain, so I cannot comment on anything other than this store. The location is not very large. It seats less than 200, maybe a little more. Guests are invited so seat themselves. The hours are good. They close at midnight, and open around 6 or 7 AM. We have eaten breakfast four times and dinner once. The waitresses are for the most part new to table service, as there are not many such employment opportunities. The two most senior managers are former prime crewmembers at a local national pancake house franchise. Between them, they have at least 50 years in the business. The general manager is a member of a family that was the backbone of the pancake franchise. Some have branched out and opened a restaurant in Hackensack, NJ. Others work in management-level positions in retail and other hospitality businesses. The wait staff is generally pleasant. Despite their naivete in the business, their managers' extensive experience is reflected in their quality of service. My critical point here is that the assistant manager who likely leads the wait staff training should be sure to remain hands on with the training, and observe the skills that need more attention. This is critical for the store to not only survive but thrive in a city where their cuisine and style are not common. There are less than ten table-service restaurants in this city of about 65,000. For scale, a neighboring town of less than 45,000 has at least four times as many. The food is good. I enjoy the pancakes and eggs. The first critical point here is that their recipe for the pancakes is dry, although the flavor is good. My eggs over-easy are often overcooked. The second critical point is that unlike most places of this style, a coffee order is a single cup - a standard 6 ounce (coffee) cup. The third critical point here is the lack of skim milk. The fourth criticism is that menu items are unavailable too often. This is more a problem for dinner. My Bride ordered a platter with sides. The main dish was not available. Her second choice was not available. At least one of the sides was not available. Prices are very good. Since we have learned that breakfast is the most reliable meal, I can best comment on this one. Our bill for two is less than $15.00. Their portions are good. Their full stack of pancakes is two, but they are more like Flintstones ribs than fast-food disks.I recommend this restaurant if you are in East Orange. I hope they are constantly reviewing feedback and working to fix any deficiencies. Their approach and business model should enable them to dominate the market.

Went for a wedding. The cocktail hour was amazing as was the Viennese hour - anything you could think of - way too much food. The dinner not so great. Steak was way too cooked, shrimps smelled fishy and potatoes were covered In Parmesan cheese. White wine at dinner was kept out and therefore not chilled as it should be served.

Another delicious and fun time at Raymondâs. With so many new restaurants popping up on Church Street, Raymondâs remains a constant. Terrific waiters and wait staff. Wonderful food every time. Excellent fish tacos and 4 cheese grilled cheese is incredible. Homemade rice pudding and key lime pie finishes the meal.

Food was good, brisket tasty and the fried green tomatoes yummy. Venue is casual and comfortable and overall it was a great evening with my family. Although location is not fabulous, it's relatively safe. I would go again.

We are a Bakery/Restaurant serving fresh baked items as well as breakfast, lunch, dinner. We are open Tuesday through Sunday and we serve dinner every Friday & Saturday 5-9 pm. BYOB You can see all our menus on our website at Anthony's Cheesecake.
Anthony's Cheesecake is a cozy little restaurant on Washington St. In Bloomfield. The Entrees and appetizers are what you could call creative. They served "Irish Nachos" on St. Patrick's day. On other days they will have dishes that are a flair up and above the usual fare. Anthony and his staff are very personable. This is becoming a Bloomfield Institution. BYOB but they take good care of you. There is parking in a lot just a few feet around the corner. Easy to get to.
