We had a warm welcome as soon as we walked in and we were introduced to Oscar and Lily. We both had fish and chips which were delicious. Freshly cooked, hot, and perfect. The staff were really helpful and so friendly. I would highly recommend this for a meal. We are thinking of staying here next time we are in the area.

Cafe restaurant very good
Having spent the morning driving round, we were looking for somewhere for a bite of lunch and found this little gem. We were warmly welcomed, shown a table and left to peruse the menu. I chose a jacket potato with local haggis and Galloway cheese and my husband had broccoli and smoked haddock quiche. Both came with a lovely side salad and coleslaw and an excellent homemade honey and mustard dressing. We followed with carrott cake and a brownie - both of which were beautifuly moist.
There are seats outside for warmer weather with a small river providing soothing backdrop sounds and parking nearby.

The history surrounding Kitty's has made it unique, being set in a Victorian house, built by a retired sea captain circa 1840. The Captain commisioned local carpenters to put in place the wonderful panelled ceiling, removed from a ship which was broken up in nearby Palnackie Harbour. The origional panneled ceiling and walls, still survive to this day and I'm sure you'll agree the workmanship was second to none. Kitty is privilaged to own and run this small family buisness in such beautiful surroundings. And looks forward to welcoming you. OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK FROM EASTER WEEKEND TO BEGINING OF NOVEMBER.
Found Kitty's while cruising New Galloway. It was like stepping back in time. Lovely collection of Edwardian/Victorian furniture, cakes and other foods, crockery and teas all beautifully displayed, with a friendly welcome and service. What a joy!
Good choice of teas and wonderful cakes (I think we shared a sponge and a scone). Wish I'd been hungrier. Madame got quite nostalgic. Tea served in pots with a strainer. (When did that last happen?)
Quaint and wonderful. Why isn't there one nearer to us?
Just go.

Were recommended this place by our guest house hosts. So glad we booked a table. Warm welcome from the ladies serving last night. Food was excellent. Hidden away but would definitely go back. Prices very reasonable if you were nearer a city/town prices would be...MoreWe are so glad you had such a good time here with us at the Clachan Inn. Your praise is much appreciated and you will be most welcome when you are able to return to visit the area again.

Stayed here for the weekend whilst mountain biking in the area. Great quiet location and stunning scenery around. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean and shower was really great especially after a long day! there was plenty of choices on the menu for our evening meal. Husband obviously went for the haggis! and I had the Steak and Ale pie. Both really tasty and a good size. Sticky toffee pudding was home made and the best one we have ever tasted! Full Scottish breakfast had in the morning and again could not fault. Very tasty and filled us up for the day ahead. will definitely consider staying here again in the future when in the area.
