If you need a word to perfectly describe New Forest, “welcoming” would be it. The lowland (i.e. no mountains) park is filled with scenic views and wide trails that beg to be explored as they wind through centuries-old woodlands. Visit Bolderwood, a protected forest and deer sanctuary that was once the hunting grounds of the Norman kings. Fish at Moors Valley before heading skyward for a treetops walk. Prefer the country-house life? Head to Beaulieu, where you can get lost in the Victorian-era at the Palace House before following in the footsteps of medieval monks at the property’s abbey.

11 out of 10 We had a few days staying here over the jubilee weekend and we were amazed. Friendly staff to us and our doggy. We have been to other places that state dog friendly .. what they mean is dog tolerant … BUT HERE at Forest park they treat your dogs as guests. From the bowls towels and bed in the rooms with biscuits to the Inn side of the restaurant. The waiters & waitresses all made a fuss and we didn’t feel uncomfortable and just wanting to eat as quickly as poss. The rooms are lovely and the food is brilliant!! The Inn is in the perfect place so you can walk straight out on to the moor land. There is a lovely garden and the service where ever you are is outstanding !! We will be back

This is our fourth visit here. The dogs are always made to feel so welcome and love the bean bags provided for them to join us at meal times. We stayed in one of the eaves rooms and the room and bathroom were both very nice, unfortunately we found the bed very uncomfortable and lumpy and this i would suggest be updated sooner rather than later as a good nights sleep is all any one wants whilst being on holiday, one other small niggle the tvs in the rooms are very small. On a posiitve note the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was amazing and the quality of the ingredients very good, especially the sausages. The garden leads out to the forest and this is so nice especially with dogs to have such fabulous walks on the doorstep .

We have 12 lovely individually decorated bedrooms, serving fresh homemade food. We try not to be pretentious, preferring instead to be informal and friendly, but we are still totally committed to quality and service. But the best part of all is the river and rambling gardens, home to a family of ducks and if you are lucky you might even spot a Kingfisher!
Stayed one night and had dinner in the pub. Everything was perfect and staff were very friendly and polite. Room was clean and nicely decorated! The bed was very soft and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. The pub’s food and drink were amazing! If we were local we’d be regulars!
