This place looks pretty ramshackle, but it was the hottest spot in town! A wide variety of good local beer, surprisingly great food (we had had seafood chowder every day in a different place, and the one here was the universal favorite), on-the-ball waitstaff despite the crowd. Outside tables looked inviting but it was too chilly the night we were there. Really terrific spot!

Having dined well the previous evening at the Treadwell Inn, where we were staying, we wanted a change and the menu read well. At least it had some grilled fish choices, as opposed to everything deep fried which seems prevalent. In the end we had the âTreasure for Twoâ which was very good. It included a whole lobster, scallops, prawns, salmon and haddock. All the fish was perfectly cooked, and the vegetables were also good. It was a lot of food and we only just managed to do it justice. I suspect that the $99 price is the most they feel that they can charge with so many dining options, but that actually makes it quite good value in our view. We canât comment on the other menu options, but our seafood dinner for two was really good and we can recommend it.

Specializing in local Maritime favorites, such as Lobster, Mussels, Clams, Scallops, and the always popular Fish n' Chips. The Shiretown Pub offers live entertainment along with a great English Pub atmosphere. Customer Service is a top priority and custom
We were choosing between this place and the Harborview Pub across the street. We might have made the wrong choice. Nothing was bad about this place, it just wasn't awesome and was fairly expensive to boot. Service was not super friendly, although I think we were pretty demanding, too, so we tipped her well. The setting is beautiful, charming if a bit weathered. Love the painting of Queen Elizabeth in the main dining. Pub looked fun and if we weren't so tired we might've stayed to listen to the music.
