Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Virginia City. You won't find big chain superstores or fast food restaurants in Virginia City. Instead you will find streets steeped in the history of the Gold Rush and the birth of the American West. The once silver and gold lined Comstock Lode drew thousands of miners, including American writer Mark Twain, to its promise of riches. Now the town preserves its illustrious past with tours, restored historical architecture, informative museums and commemorative events for all ages.

Family style restaurant great for groups and children that become a fun music and dance venue on Friday and Saturday nights
An amazing band consisting of a bunch of older (like 70âs) studio musicians were playing on a Sunday night when we came through, and they were absolutely fabulous! These guys were real pros, who obviously had been doing professional work in the Nevada casinos for decades. The drummer seemed to be the leader, and he queued up everything from swing classics, to the Chairman and Dino, to Elvis, to pop hits. A few friends came up and sang with them as well. We danced some swing, and had a great time!On our visit, the place was full of locals, which is always a good sign. Not a tourist (other than ourselves) was to be found. The place was pretty much the only open restaurant in town at 7pm on a Sunday, and my wife and I shared a pretty good pizza and salad. I wouldnât say the food was anything spectacular, but I sure was glad they were open, or we would have had to slog all the way back to Carson City. Not sure what happens on other days, but if you are in Virginia City on a Sunday night, the Red Dog Salon is a must! Thanks for the great review and enjoying our music and fun!

There were 3 of us. We went for an early lunch, got in there about 11am. I had the Bison Burger as it was on special. One friend got the Cheddar Dip with a side salad. The other got the regular Burger with side salad. Beers weren't bad at $4 each. The bison burger was cooked perfectly. The cheddar dip was superb. Service was great. At 11am there was only us and a couple other tables. By 11:30am it was completely full so go early or go late.

Went during the famous chilli cook off so the Viriginia city streets were full. Having a hard time getting drinks at the more famed establishments. We were just walking around a herd music comming from an open door. Yes was the Silver Dollar Salalon ! We sang we drank and danced with such an enthustic crowd. Small 3 piece band playing but they were allowing guest performers to come up and play or sing so, I went on up and sang a couple somgs. Back at the bar it was time for a whiskey drinking exobition. and then more dancing. There was no last call so we did stay late, very late. Stumbled out to the street and grabbed a cab of sorts back to our room. Really enjoyed The Silver Dollar Saloon !!

Walked in here to have a beer and see what life in Virginia City was like many years ago.The bartender's clothing seemed to have matched who would have served you then along with his accent. The bank vault, mine tour(fee),and other museum type stuff was throughout the saloon. The beer was cold, bartender was friendly and the back in time feel was nice. They do serve hot dogs, nachos and some other quick snack foods. We will return!!!

We have our own craft brewed beers as well as other local breweries on tap. Our beers are made with some of the best water possible, it comes from an alpine lake Marlette.
Came in to try some beers. Disappointed they were not doing flights that day but we all ordered something different. We watched John Wayne on one screen and football on the other. Bartendress gave us some free baskets of popcorn. Wish they had wifi as it was difficult to get cell in there and we wanted to check into our beers on Untapp'd. Cool joint. I'd go back next time I'm there most definitely.
