Reviews on Bar food in Carson City, Nevada, United States. A city of natural beauty, charm, history and western hospitality, this state capital derived its name from Kit Carson, the legendary trapper, scout and explorer. A trip to the city is a living history lesson. One need only jump on the Kit Carson Trail downtown, which passes old mansions, courthouses, a depot and a brewery, to experience a taste of life in the Old West. Also downtown, the State Capitol, built in 1870, offers a look at the birth of Nevada as a state and Carson City as its capital. Other historic landmarks, cultural heritage centers and museums dot the landscape around town, but don't forget your clubs. The city is well-known for the Divine Nine, a group of top-rated area courses designed by pros such as Arnold Palmer, Johnny Miller and John Harbottle and set amid the magnificent Sierra Mountains. After a little golf, gambling or sightseeing, spend some down time at the Carson City Hot Springs. You will emerge feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and ready for more exciting endeavors.

For a quiet Thursday evening, service was slow. Refills were not automatic. Our party of 4 adults and 3 kids (ages 9-10-10) were seated in a front corner booth and then, basically, forgotten. About 20 minutes after ordering, our appetizers of onion rings and boneless wings arrives BUT our simple chips and salsa were forgotten and we had to remind the server. When our food finally arrived it appeared to have been thrown together, but the taste was decent. They were prompt with the birthday sundae for the birthday boy and they did sing enthusiastically. I am from out of town, but return to town often. I doubt we would return to eat here.

Went today, about 4:30 PM weekday. Three customers in this large sports bar. Ordered a BLT, an item featured on their "Happy Hour" menu. Got the bill and was charged $1.50 more than the "Happy Hour" price and when questioned was told that those specials don't apply to take out. To add insult to injury was charged a 75 cent "take out fee". So if I had sat in this restaurant, consumed the server's time, dirtied glasses and dishes and taken a table or bar seat for substantial time, I could have saved $2.34. If I ever return, I will order without reference to take out, eat a few fries and ask for a take-out box. I might have a few drinks while, I waited, but not if I were about to be ripped off.

If you are familiar with Chili's menus, you know they change their fare as often as we should service our cars. (NO disrespect meant) We have always chosen Chili's for the choices and fun of a visit. HOWEVER, this specific venue has an edge over other grill and bar restaurants in Carson City, NV >>>>> SERVICE! Once seated, we had the pleasure to be served by Doug; both personable and professional. Their new White Spinach Queso was a hit, as well as the Balsamic/Citrus vinaigrette on my salad. Good food, great service, that's what it is all about.

We haven't been to this location for quite a while, but decided we'd like to enjoy the modern jazz music they have on Wednesday nights. What a great surprise when we saw their new and improved menu. Where before the food was always good, but mostly bar food and snacks, now they have improved the menu to include excellent dinners.I really enjoyed my chicken pasta primavera dinner and was glad I didn't order a salad as well, as the dinner itself was more than filling. So glad we decided to stop in and we'll be back.

Nice to find a good restaurant with an extensive menu that is not over priced in downtown Carson City. The Union is located at the corner of North Carson and West Proctor streets with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. Primarily a brewery, coffee house and sports bar, The Union does offer a varied menu for lunch or dinner. For a lighter meal try the chicken wings, ahi poke nachos, salumi board (selection of Italian cold cuts), steamed mussels, avocado toast, soups or a salad (ahi tuna, Caesar, or greens). They offer many pizzas, pasta dishes, burgers and sandwiches. But for those looking for a fuller meal look to the paella, sirloin steak, brick chicken or breaded pork chops. There is a kidâs menu too. For lunch there are plate specials. Several desserts will tempt you especially the Key lime cheese cake. They also serve brunch on the weekends. Word of warning: the Pork Belly Burnt Ends as an appetizer are truly burnt so if you are wary of charcoal be careful with this one. Good friendly fast service. Parking on the street.

We stayed a couple day and ate practically every meal here. Breakfast is OK. but don't order the Hot Turkey. Stuffing was hard and burnt. Turkey really fatty?? And management could care less. Prime rib and fish and chips were excellent . Slot machines little cold. Can break even.

We found this restaurant last night quite by accident. We just moved here and are checking out the local food scene. We are certainly glad we found this restaurant and will definitely go back! The staff was very nice and the food was quite good. They have a very interesting menu. It is not your normal basic food place, but it is far from fancy. It is very eclectic. One pleasant surprise was the live music. We truly enjoyed that! Iâm already drooling for the meal I had last night...oh yea, I have some left! Off to have breakfast now...

Food, atmosphere and service are all great. There is outdoor seating available. The interior decor could use some freshening up, not in style, just a bit worn down. Booth cushions could be restuffed, for example. But itâs clean and the food is great and the building is historic. I have had the French dip and burger and both were fabulous.

We have an annual masters ball tournament with folks traveling from all over Canada and the US. We book Reds every year on the Saturday night outside. This year was especially delicious. Everyone has a fabulous meal and it was a great environment to have a social meal with our crazy group and not bug the other patrons. Great evening!
