After all the golfers had gone home, my wife and I stopped in to give the restaurant a try for the first time. Nicely decorated for Christmas and very clean. I ordered the western burger she ordered a regular burger. Both came on a pretzel bun Fries were excellent. Side salad good too. We were the only customers at 5:30 pm in late November.
Unique place to eat. It is located in a back alley which made it a fun place to visit. One of our party was in a wheelchair and the place was very accommodating. The food was awesome! They specialize in BBQ. Members of our party who ordered the pulled pork sandwich said it was among the best they've had lately. Lots of BBQ sauces to choose from. It was hands down that the Whiskey Honey was a favorite! They offer a Sassy Slim Swiss hamburger which was my favorite! Wish we would have asked if everything was homemade, as that is how good the food was. They offer burritos, and evening specials. The menu is available online.I would definitely go back if I ever find myself back in Plattsmouth.
Went to HyVee Market Grille for breakfast last weekend. Husband ordered a skillet breakfast, i ordered an Omelette w/hashbrowns. The hashbrowns in both breakfasts were so salty we couldn't eat them. I could live with just eating the omelette but my husband couldn't eat his skillet at all. We told the server and she apologized but didn't offer to remove my husbands breakfast from the bill or discount mine. All that was offered was to re-make my husband's order. Re-ordering food anywhere is always a risk as you don't know if the cook will retaliate by doing something to your food. The server was nice enough but our tab should have been adjusted. On the bright side, our pancakes were fabulous! Fluffy and delicious. And they are huge! We will give the restaurant one more chance and will order everything with NO SALT.
The restaurant does a lot of business via a food truck. I had a fabulous gyro; was embarrassed to discover I had bolted it down and no one else was finished. My husband had a sandwich made of barbecued rib meat, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We're planning a trip to the full restaurant next.
We made our first visit to downtown Plattsmouth's new eatery, Fork and Hammer Restaurant in September (2019), and wow, were we impressed. We arrived early (around 5:30) and were among the first customers to arrive. We were told to pick any seat in the cozy dining room. The bar seating area is in the adjacent room. My wife ordered the shrimp and rice dish, while I choose the pork steak. Both were delicious, and the service was outstanding. After the meal, we ordered another round of drinks and moved to one of the couches in the bar seating area. It was a pleasant first visit, and, rest assured, we will return. A word of caution: It is a bit on the pricey side, but it's worth every cent.
We came in for a friends dinner night. I had your chicken fried steak dinner. The meal was large enough that my husband had to help me eat it. The breading was good and the mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious with the gravy. My husband loves that you now have the bacon and eggs meal available all day. He is a huge breakfast eater for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food came out quick, and was hot and delicious. We like that we can play keno while enjoying time with friends. I also like that you get a free soda, tea or coffee if you are playing keno.

Had lunch here on the Mar 16, the day before St Pat's day, with a friend. Picked the place because it was convenient for the two of us, and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. He had pastrami and I had a Rueben sandwich and both were excellent. The wait staff was attentive and took good care of us. Finally, the cost was reasonable. If you don't mind going a bit out of the way, it is a good place to stop for lunch.
