Things to do in Fremont
First impression as we walked in. Carpet/rugs were covered in dirt and gravel. As we approached the check in counter, there were toothpicks and a cig butt on the floor. 2 employees and a manager standing there. Would think someone could run a sweeper or clean this up. Mentioned it to them and they all stood there and stared at me. Seating was good. Service was not very good. Could not get pop refills and we were having hot wings. Server did not come back to check on us. Had to go to the bar to get our own drink refill. Had to leave the table and find our server to get a box to take our left overs home. Overall first experience, not so good.

I spent a week in Fremont for business reasons and visited several places to eat. We visited J's twice for lunch and both times we really enjoyed it!Friendly staff, good food, plenty of choices as well as daily specials. One of the best places in Fremont to eat I think!

No one was available to seat us when we arrived and after waiting a few minutes seated ourselves, got our own menus, and silverware. Service picked up a bit afterwards, but was very slow especially considering most people are probably stopping in from work.I ordered the lunch special, Classic + Classic (Caesar Salad and Three-Cheese Chicken Cavatappi.) I guess I have a different opinion of what a Caesar salad should be. Mine was little more than iceburg lettuce, Caesar dressing, and some parmesan cheese. The pasta was good, but a bit soupy.

This small Fremont bar has a very large outdoor seating area. Great boneless wings, nice cold beer. Food comes out with a very reasonable ticket time. Try the broccoli cheese appetizers. Delicious!Sometimes the staff can be a little standoffish, or will unnecessarily complain about each other in front of the guests. If you can overlook that, you'll have a great meal.

Enjoy Breakfast All Day! With My INN-credible V.I.B. at Village Inn you're in charge. Choose any four different items from over 30 delicious options to create your own delicious meal. With fresh, hand-cracked eggs and made-from-scratch buttermilk pancakes
Village Inn is a chain that specializes in moderately priced breakfast and lunch/supper meals. On. Wed. this location offers a free piece of pie all day -- even for breakfast. I took a group of 4 elderly out of town people who were having a reunion. 2 had walkers, two had mild dementia, and all are a bit slower these days. The staff was just so nice and helpful and patient. The ladies had brunch and talked for a couple of hours. The food is what you would expect in this kind of place, and well done for its type. The service was outstanding!

We have always liked the vast menu at Fremont Keno. Recently we ordered salads as a take-out and were quite impressed with the speed of the service and the quality of the food. We recomend the Southwest grilled chicken salad. The jalepeno dressing is spicey so combine it with ranch.

Have eaten here a number of times over the past year. The food is always fresh and very tasty! Broasted Chicken, Hot Beef, Chicken Fried Steak and a great Reuben! Their pies are the bee's knees! They even discount it if bought with a meal.Service is friendly and good enough if you are patient. They seem to know all the regulars and some chatting will take place. No worries, you are getting real good food at small town prices.Bargain tip: When I want a quick bite and not a full meal, I hit their drive-thru where they will sell you just the sandwich for cheap. I usually get the Reuben; it's the best $5 value I've found. Huge sandwich will feed me twice. My go to choice in Fremont is Mac's Cafe!

Mel's looks like a traditional old diner, all silver and neon on the outside. We have visited several times over two Fremont visits, a year apart. Strong smell of grease when you walk in is a little discouraging.. I got the "Buddy Holly" which is eggs, potatoes, lots of vegetables and I was very happy with it. Our group was happier with breakfast type items on this diner menu than with the lunch/supper choices. Luckily, breakfast items are available at all times. The service was good and the prices were reasonable.

Recently opened. Tried it last night and wanted to write a review.
The weather was perfect for eating outside at this restaurant located a little off the beaten path by a river inlet. A pleasant, relaxed atmosphere inside and out. Everyone in my party was very complimentary about their variety of menu selections. For me particularly, I included the daily soup option which was a beef chowder which was outstanding. Don't know if this is offered regularly but certainly worth going back for. In fact, everyone wants to go back again soon. The service was cheerful and good, though there was a lot of confusion at check out which was sorted out.

We were in Fremont and wanted to eat in a local restaurant. This was a terrific choice. There was plenty of parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The prices were excellent. I had the Texas toast with pork. The toast was fine but the pork was very tender. You can choose your sauce and it is at the table so you can season as you see fit. The potato salad was awesome!!! No onions and very creamy. The portion size was generous. The staff was friendly and service was quick. The atmosphere is very homey. We had a great lunch!! We would definitely stop again.
