We booked this restaurant after searching Tripadvisor and reading some of the positive reviews that others had written in the past. We had heard about the homemade pasta and the unique method used by this Japanese family restaurant. When the server brought out our pasta that he would run through his handmade machine (with guitar strings) we were excited and were entertained by the process. A unique and interesting method of preparing pasta, a first for us. When the pasta was brought out it was well presented and to their credit, tasted great. However, there were some problems that I think others fail to mention,1. The pasta we ordered had shrimp added to the top of it. The heads of the shrimp were still attached when cooked. In the mother/waitress attempt to explain to us that we could eat the meat inside the head of the shrimp (which we already knew), she reached down (perhaps out of frustration due to the language barrier) and picked up my shrimp with her bare hands and motioned that we could break the head apart to get at the meat. We were shocked. Who touches a customer's food, let alone with their bare hands? Unacceptable.2. We didn't get any bread with our pasta but had to order it extra for 200 yen. That's 200 yen for two small pieces of cold bread. The restaurant doesn't need to be this cheap. Serve a few slices of bread with the pasta--but do heat it up first. All in all, a nice dinner but our experience was marred by what we witnessed.

Cutting-edge cuisine (executed beautifully), professional servers and calming atmosphere. We went with the set menu, and enjoyed some new flavors and a number of interesting presentations. The warm white asparagus with seaweed jelly, marinated sayori fish & Bernaise sauce course as well as the roasted venison with coffee butter, black fruit paste, cauliflower, shitake mushroom & poivrade sauce were our two favorites. There were a number of exceptional choices on the cheese trolley and the Praline Chocolate Sphere with lemon confit, salt crumble & hot hazelnut sauce was devine. The restaurant is in the Ritz Carlton Hotel and the hotel has a number of attractive bars where one can get a cocktail before dinner,Dear adalbert3,Thank you very much for having taken your valuable time to share such a delightful feedback. La Veduta is a destination for exquisite foods prepared in the best italian culinary traditions.
The ambience in the dining room was formal yet relaxed. The service levels throughout the dining experience provided by Charles were nothing less than perfect throughout the entire meal. Most importantly, the food was simply tasty. I chose the scampi carpaccio and the kobe beef rossini. My compliments and my sincere thanks to the chef. While this restaurant certainly is expensive but I cannot wait to return.
