If you like Art Deco architecture, you must visit Napier. The town was completely destroyed by an earthquake in 1931, then completely rebuilt in gorgeous Art Deco style. A number of local wineries also offer tours and tastings.

Welcome to Kerry Lodge in the heart of Taradale, ten minutes from the centre of Napier, 15 minutes from Hastings and walking distance to Church Road and Mission Estate Wineries. We are ideally placed for all Hawke's Bay activities. We are situated on a quiet back section in half an acre of gardens. After a day's sightseeing you are welcome to take a dip in the pool or join us relaxing on the deck. There is also a guest lounge with tea and coffee making facilities and some light reading. Hawke's Bay is one of the sunniest and warmest areas in New Zealand, it is a wonderful place to visit and holiday in - with fabulous world class vineyards through to stunning Art Deco architecture. We look forward to sharing it with you. PS. We also have a rehomed greyhound, Mu-mu. Mu-mu has free range of the back of the house but to her great disappointment she is not allowed in the guest areas of the house.
I never write reviews but I feel like I need to share the great experience we had at Kerry lodge. We stayed for 6 nights and loved it. It felt like home. Bed was so comfortable, breakfast was convenient and fresh, the hosts were such a delight and the room was perfect. There was everything we needed. The gardens are gorgeous and it was so peaceful. It was a real pleasure to stay there. The hosts were wonderful and made us feel so welcomed. We will definitely be back. If you are looking for a peaceful, friendly, clean and comfortable accommodation in Hawkes bay look no further. Thank you Brent and Fiona.

From check in to check out, the host Guido could not have been more helpful. He manages the property in a very quiet, calm and unobtrusive manner. I had the place to myself as it was a Sunday night and found it so relaxing before a very busy day. The continental breakfast was beyond generous for one person and beautifully presented. The upstairs sun room is a lovely place to eat breakfast looking out over MarineParade to the sea. Definitely somewhere I would stay again.

Mon Logis Luxury Bed & Breakfast Marine Parade Napier, New Zealand. A little Piece of France nestled in the heart of the beautiful wine growing region of Hawke's Bay. Originally built as an English Terrace house in the 1860's, this colonial Building was extended into a private hotel. Only a few minutes walk to the city centre, this grand two story colonial villa overlooking the Pacific ocean has a fascinating history as a private hotel since the early 1900's. Mon Logis is one of the building who survive the 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake. In 1991, it became Mon Logis, meaning "My Dwelling." Now lovingly renovated, Mon Logis will cater to a maximum of eight guests and is modeled on the small privately owned French hotel. Charming personal service and French cuisine are the specialties. Of the upstairs individually furnished rooms, two have queen size beds and two have twin beds and all have their own private facilities. Owner Frenchman Gerard decorated each guest room differently but in a style in keeping with the original charm of the building. Iron bedsteads, feather duvets, lace covers and fine cotton linen all create a special elegance and one room is totally furnished with pieces bought from France. Downstairs an informal guest lounge invites relaxation, television viewing, a quiet time reading or perhaps a game of chess or bridge. Guests can help themselves to coffee or tea and biscuits any time of the day. Breakfast, served in the privacy of your own room or downstairs dining room, could be a basket of freshly baked continental breads, croissants and brioche with a compote of locally grown fruits or a wonderful herb omelette, crispy bacon and grilled tomatoes. Whichever is chosen certainly promises to be a most memorable meal. However, should the choice be made to dine out, Gerard is happy to give recommendations and as guide competent in giving an insight into Napier's unique architecture. All perfectly designed for comfort and relaxation, Mon Logis is a non smoking establishment and does not cater for children. French and Spanish are spoken; exclusive customised vineyard tour with host by arrangement. " Mon Logis is casual elegance at a price you can afford."
Gerard took wonderful care of us! The rooms were delightful, with extremely comfortable beds. The breakfast was truly outstanding, as was the breakfast time conversation. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Gerard at Mon Logis.
