Great place to stay if you need a stop when driving Vancouver Island from South to North. Great customer service - all staff were friendly and helpful. They have SUPs and kayaks that you can rent and launch right off the property to enjoy Long Lake. Everything was clean which makes you feel safe. Great breakfast selection too. And...they have a welcome pack for your dog that includes doggie bowls, towel, poop bags and some treats! My dog loved his stay and he got a lot of pets and hugs from staff! Will definitely come back here to stay again.

The hotel is pretty dated but in a good location for people who want to travel to nanaimo. The bethroom fans in initial room is not working. So we contact the concierge, he is very friendly and assist us to change to new room. Unfortunately that the air conditioner is not working properly for the second room either. So we end up to change room twice. Other than the room problem, everything else is awesome. Customer service attend to out need right away and assist us with room change and offer discount when we check out. Overall we are still pretty satisfy.

Very nice, older - but very clean - hotel, and is well-located. In spite of being on a major road, our room was very quiet. The owners were great to deal with, over the phone as well as in-person. We appreciated having a kitchen and full-sized refrigerator for the start of our 3-week road trip on the island. The parking lot is pretty small, so it might be challenging for larger vehicles. (Note that although the location is near a ferry dock, not ALL ferries dock there. I was confused when we disembarked at Duke's Point and had a 20 minute drive to the Inn - but definitely didn't matter and it was my bad for not researching more thoroughly.)

I arrived about 10 pm and there was a sign saying to phone the night staff and there was no doorbell. My phone was dead and nothing nearby was open so I knocked for twenty minutes before someone came down to check me in. Arriving in the room, I felt a blast of cold air and saw that the heater was completely turned off and the window was open. Even after putting the heater as high as it would go and getting into bed with my winter coat on, I was still shaking with cold two hours later. The hallways were entirely unheated and the bathrooms had a tiny amount of heat with no thermostat to adjust it (meaning i could not have a shower that i was looking forward to and that is included in the rent). Amenities in the room that i remembered from previous stays were reduced (ie one towel instead of two). And the price had gone up, unlike every other hotel that are currently offering lower rates.

Klare Empfehlung!

We decided to give this hotel a try as it's fairly new and close to the historic area of Nanaimo. The check in experience was great and the front desk clerk was very welcoming and helpful. We found a spot under the hotel to park in which was good considering this looks like a bit of a rough neighbourhood. It is an easy walk to a couple of the best restaurants in the city - Asteras Greek and La Stella Italian, both on Wesley Street. Our room was a little cold and was sparsey furnished but we found the bed to be very comfortable. Good place to stay for a night.

PORT-O-CALL INN & SUITES is located in NANAIMO, British Columbia. 42 unit hotel / motel. Free parking, in-room Coffee, Tea. Close to Downtown Nanaimo, and Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. 7 minutes drive to Departure Bay to Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal.
Location is pretty good, short walk to downtown, bus stop right outside the place. However, the beds were so uncomfortable, the place was so noisy and the curtains did nothing to keep the light from outside.
