Natural beauty abounds in the state of Uttaranchal's Lake District. Boaters flock to hill-ringed Naini Lake, which according to mythology is one of the emerald eyes of Shiva's wife. A hike or horseback ride to the top of Naina Peak (aka China Peak), the highest point, provides stunning views of the snow-capped Himalayas. To share a prime vantage point with family members of all ages, take the aerial lift up to Snow View; there's also a small marble temple at the top dedicated to Dev Mundi.

View Point Resort is a budget resort in Nainital. View Point Resort offers the best ambiance, facilities and services and above all managed by professionally trained and responsible staff along with personalized services. The resort is an ideal starting point for snow view and other places of tourist interest. The resort offers both local and International cuisine to suit every customer.
The location is good if snowfall is there, otherwise troublesome location. Not at all hyganic. Pathetic interior. Room service is good but the food is worst. You don't have option to eat anywhere else. Whatever they cook, you have to eat anyhow. Owners hate cleanliness and the manager too likes living in room full of dirt and stains. They like bedsheets full of stains and chip-chip bathrooms and you have to adjust with all this . Plese explore other options to stay at Nainital as they are available in plenty and cheaper too.

Situated on Mall road, Hotel Cloud 7 is an unmatched type among budget hotels in Nainital. A rooftop café with an open terrace seating and stunning views of the Himalayan Valley and the Naini lake makes this property a favourite among tourists. The hotel offers a travel desk to arrange for city tours and chargeable laundry options for its guests. Every room features an LED television with cable/DTH connection and a shower cabinet in its private bathroom. Guests also get to enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi and breakfast at the property. The hotel is 58 km from the nearest airport in Pant Nagar and 24 km from the Kathgodam Railway Station. You can hire a taxi or explore the city on foot. Eateries such as Sher-E-Punjab, Machan and Shakleys Mountain Café are within walking distance from the property. Tiffin top, 5 km away is the nearest tourist attraction among many others. You can enjoy a cycle-rikshaw ride till Mall road or Bada Bazar to shop for souvenirs and specialties of Nainital.
For the high tariff, this is a budget hotel, with dirty rooms and dirtier linen, leakage in bathrooms, and very average breakfast. The staff, although helpful, is clueless about most of the things. The 'inclusions' such as kettle and toiletries were given after calling for them repeatedly. No intercom, so one has to go downstairs since there was hardly mobile network. Location is bang opposite Allahabad Bank about 10 minutes' walk from the Mall Road. It is a very noisy area and one can hear traffic sounds all through the day and evening. The TV in the reception is always switched on on high volume, making it uncomfortable if you are on the ground or first floors. Common balconies, so if someone is smoking you can smell it sitting in your rooms. If travelling with elderly people or those who cannot walk much, please avoid. It is situated at a steep incline and gets difficult to climb up. Overall, there are better hotels/homestays available if you book a little ahead of your day of arrival.

Mantra Resort is located at Rambagh orchard in the Village of Hartola, Nainital in Uttarakhand State. This state is often referred to as “the abode of the Gods” because of its natural beauty and that it houses numerous holy places. It is here that Mantra’s nine-acre hillside site is located in a natural setting with thick forest of oak and rhododendrons on the south side and orchards of apples, plums, peaches and apricots on the north side. It is at an altitude of 7200 ft., in the Kumaon Himalayas and the site in addition to an abundance of natural beauty also offers some breath taking views of the Nanda Devi Himalayan range. It is an ideal place to stay in the Nainital area if you are an adventurer and nature enthusiast. Outdoor recreational activities that may be organized while you stay with us include nature walks, trekking, rock climbing, bonfire, riverside picnics and safari.
Stayed in Hartola with my spouse and young children (7 and 11 years old). Boy did we love it. A very active stay, the kids and ourselves went into a deep slumber every night, after a day of running around the gloriously hilly site (think of Hobbiton!). The rarefied (and clean!) air and the treks up, down and around the mountain made sure of that and meant we earned our delicious locally produced meals! Glimpses of local wildlife (monkeys and leopards), as well as glow worms and other local fauna kept the children rapt. Having masala chai in my bare feet outside our chalet as the sun warmed the world up, looking at the snow-capped top line of the upper ridges of the Indian Himalayas was a pure joy. Highlights were the treks, the Easter egg hunt by the kids amidst the interesting foliage, the greatest samosas on earth in a nearby village, and the day spent in Nainital on the way. The drive is daunting (although I understand there may be an alternative involving a flight and shorter drive), but where would the craic in that be? If you're thinking of a hill break to cool down, and somewhere the kids can run wild on a huge private site, look no further. It's a comfortable, gl-amping type experience, the coverage for phones and data was excellent, the workers on site looked after us so well, we left well exercised but thoroughly refreshed, and all in all it was a real privilege to be here and experience this Indian road less travelled.

Stayed in June 2018, Location of the hotel is good,at mall road, front of Naini lake, one can take boat ride ride from tallital without walking much. But Mall Road market/ Tibetan Market required some walking. Rooms is small & clean. Staff is supportive. Pros : Good Location Snacks/Food shop is just below, so enjoy Nainital weather without moving much Nice Staff Clean Rooms Lake View Affordable Nice Food Quality Cons : Restaurant Chandni chowk is just below & one other food shop is there, It had some chimney/exhaust fan outlet just front of lake facing rooms, which give bad smell while opening of windows or sitting outside. Roof of these front building also give some bad views. Many stairs, to be precise 55 till reception.

"Lake & Woods" – Nainital is only a short walk (100 meters) from the mall at Nainital. Hotel reflects the true values of warmth with service excellence with stylish and well-designed interiors. Hotel Lake & Woods is one of the finest hotels in Nainital. The hotel has made a mark in the hospitality field by maintaining its standard in the high quality of hospitality services in a short time.
It was overall a very good experience, a satisfactory stay I'd call it. The view is pretty and beautiful. The hotel is located at the best distance, not in the city rush neither too far from the lake. Has good room services and a cooperative staff, also great food is provided to you. In summary I'd say it was a nice and a great service hotel, after spending my day out in the city coming back to the hotel room gave me calm and peaceful vibes. The hotel lake and woods is a great hotel to stay in and I'd also say it is far more better than the other hotels with similar price range, after looking through all the other hotels seed so overpriced. My stay was a great one in the hotel as well as the city. It is a very beautiful city.

Inspite of very less information available for this hotel- lack of images that really is one of the deciding criteria while looking for hotels, this experience turned out to be great value for the money. Everything except the location is great with this hotel. You will have to walk an extra mile or two to get to the mall road.

I stayed in Chinar Lake View last september on a solo backpacking tour. The property offers a magnificent view of the lake, although rooms are not the same as they portray online in the pictures. Food was okay, they do not allow outside food or any deliveries which is one minus point. Reception staff and owners were extremely helpful in guiding me for tours and travels in & around the city. Overall everything was above average. Recommended for budget/ solo travellers!
