Reviews on Japanese food in Nagano, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. One of the main attractions in Nagano is Zenkō-ji, a colorful 7th-century Buddhist temple with proud architecture and a humbling presence. The compound contains lovely gardens, a treasure house, sacred statues and a massive incense burner. Kids will love the “ancient” appeal of the Chausuyama Dinosaur Park, adjacent to the Nagano Chausuyama Zoo. Test your stealth skills at the Chibikko Ninja Village, then reward your hard work with a tasting tour at the Nishi-no-Mon sake brewery.

If you are in the area and get hungry... go there and you will get very simple food. Noodles or rice with very few other ingredients. However, this food is made there, made fast and it is good.Once more, this is not exquisite Japanese food of the top line.. This is the homemade fast food... simple, good, and... fast!Highly recommended if you are in the mood / need for this.

I love the food and the staff' hospitality. I ate there everyday while visiting Nagano. Not far from Zenkoji Temple. Not so many choices of meal, very simple dishes but the taste is heaven. The restaurant is in the 2nd fl. I definitely eat there again in the future.

We decided to have tea at Meijitei in the Nagano station. Signature dish seems to be pork cutlet and cold soba but they also serve horse meat sushi and grilled beef tongue. I had the signature dish and it wasn't bad.

Thank you for looking at this pageï¼ shop is near Nagano Station(JRline,Nagano dentetu line). This restaurant offers buckwheat noodles(soba), tempura and grilled chicken other dish.Soba is the most famous dish in Nagano. We have an English menu in our shop
After deciding that we were going to treat ourself with a nice meal out, we read the menus of many restaurants up and down the street. We are so glad we chose to dine here. The service was friendly and attentive. We explained we did not want to be seated near smokers, and we were given a private banquet room. The food was delicious, very well cooked and seasoned, full of flavour and you could tell how fresh it was. Neither of us are huge fans of soba, but there were plenty of other dishes we could choose. Generous serves, so great value for money. Highly recommended.

Few noodle restaurants in Japan have caught my attention more than Soba nomi. I came to this restaurant after visiting Kagami-ike for a late lunch. The road down from Kagami-ike was covered in solid ice, so if you're walking down during the cold months, be careful. Just a heads-up: if you have the Togakushi Kogen Free Kippu, you can enjoy discounts at many eateries, attractions, and shops in the Togakushi area, including Soba no mi. Just after entering there's a waiting area. There's a name list for you to write your name and the number of guests down, and you can wait at corner for your name to be called by the waitress once there's space. There were heaters here during December when I visited. It's freezing out there even at the start of December, I guarantee. The waitress served my hot green tea while I mulled my choices on the English menu (they have it in other languages as well) So I can't exactly remember what I ordered, but I think it was the Kinoko soba (Â¥1300), which was handmade fresh Soba served in a bowl of warm soup with a side of pickles and spring onions. It was totally a delight for my empty stomach after spending about 4 hours in the cold from Hoko-sha up to Kagami-ike. Just before I tucked in, the waitress brought me a small red pot and an earthen cup, and indicated that I should read the section in the menu she flipped to. This was regarding drinking the water ("Soba yu") the soba had been boiled after I had finished my meal, which contained a lot of protein. This was unprecedented as many Soba restaurants I had eaten at in Japan or elsewhere before and after this never had such service. But I guess I learnt something that day. That Soba yu's taste complemented the soba I had, and cleansed my palate, leaving a light feeling in my mouth.Of the many noodle restaurants I've eaten at in Japan, this rates as the second best, first being an old mom-and-pop ramen shop called "Miyabi" in Kyoto which closed down after April 2014. You can also buy Soba no mi products from the restaurant.

We were recommended by different local people to try this ramen shop. Though a small one and you need to wait for sometime around 20-30min, myself and my companion had ordered miso chasyumen (millstone) with a bottle of Asashi! They donât have varied choices which they can control the quality of their food! Fantastic!

Followed the advice of previous reviewers and was not disappointed. Service is prompt and courteous everywhere I have been in Japan and it remains the case here. Had the Kakiage Tempura Soba, soba with fried vegetable fritters, loved it. Getting used to beer with dinner (and a few lunches). Worth a look around the Mi do ri department store after youâve eaten. Great place. Look for the blue curtains in the food court on level 3.

This soba restaurant is my BEST soba restaurant.Food presentation of soba is characteristics of Togakushi Soba. Please look the attached picture, and we call it Bocchi-mori in Japanese. At almost all soba restaurants in the Togakushi area,Soba is usually served in the style of Bocchi-mori on bamboo basket.I usually order Daigongen-mori, in which there are many many Bocchi-moris of soba.Of course, I love Togakushi Soba very much !Another specialty of this soba restaurant is Tempura.Tempura is also delicious. Please be careful, this soba restaurant is so familiar that you may wait for your turn around the lunch timePlease be patient to wait for your turn. And one more thing I would like to notice you.The credit card is not accepted in this soba restaurant.and take the cash with you.
