Mỹ Tho ( listen) is the capital city, center of economics, education and technology of Tiền Giang Province, located in the Mekong Delta region of South Vietnam. It has a population of approximately 169,000 in 2006 and 220,000 in 2012. The majority ethnic group is the Kinh, and some of the Chinese, the Cham and the Khmer. Boat rides on the Mỹ Tho River are popular with tourists, and the city is known for hủ tiếu Mỹ Tho, a type of soup.

Stopped here for lunch on a tour. The food was terrible, couldn't eat anything but the fruit. Shrimp tasted old, overwhelming fishy taste. Fried rice tasted like it came from a box, very fake flavor. The sticky rice ball wasn't anything like others we had and the hot pot was flavorless with rubbery fish. And it was slow!! Do not let a tour bring you here!

We had some brief business with the Buddhist temple across the road from this location (delivering a gift from someone in the US). While speaking with the chief nun at the temple we learned that the temple ran a sizable school, and part of its support comes from the operations of this restaurant. So after the business was completed with the temple, we decided to give it a try.
Wow! It was really great. I'm not a vegetarian but the food was still first rate in my opinion. We were with some Vietnamese-American friends, one of whom is a cookbook author. She declared the dishes well-prepared and high quality. I just found them tasty, without any frame of reference. It was at the end of lunch hour, but many people (no Euro/North Americans in sight) were still lingering under the thatched buildings which make up the restaurant complex, which inside is green and lush.
I recognize that not every tourist makes their way to My Tho (in the Mekong Delta region), but if they are near this place, it's worth stopping in to Bo De Quan. And your money will help to support the local school run by the temple, a serious need in rural Vietnam.

We visited with Wendy Wu group for lunch. Very good, simple, tasty Vietnamese food. Lovely service from smiling efficient staff. When we arrived we were only people there, but when we left there were many people dining in this quite big restaurant. As the meal was part of tour package, I can't comment on cost, but expect it wasn't much. If you are in My Tho (maybe for the big Buddhist temple?), I recommend you try this restaurant. It's situated about 30 metres down a short narrow road off the main road.

Cafe serving local Vietnamese street food and drinks. Family friendly, clean with English speaking staff.
Popular with the local young people, this cafe offers cheap good food. We ate here twice, choosing from the small menu, spaghetti bolognaise and stir fried veg noodles. Plus pork sticks from the street menu. All very yummy. Followed by coconut icecream. Second visit my husband had fish and chips x2 from the snack menu, I had the bolognaise again. And ice cream. Both meals with drinks came to less than 130,000vnd extremely good value. Friendly, English speaking.

I have never been unkind or dismissive in any of the reviews I have posted. As a traveller you have no right to expect an identical experience to those you most value in your own country; with such an attitude there is no point in travelling in search of different experiences at all. So we fell at the first and most elemental hurdle in going for pizza in a country where that is not the cuisine and tradition. So that having been said I honestly advise you not to bother coming here. This is intended to assist you and avoid wasted time and disappointment. The service, the food...so poor I cannot in truth be bothered to describe what it wasn't.

As part of a Mekong Delta day trip, we came to Coconut Island by boat and, after seeing the coconut candy business, we walked a short way to where small carts and ponies were waiting for us. They took us close to the restaurant and we walked another 500m to finally arrive via the roadside entrance. The main restaurant itself is a huge thatched open sided building. Fans added to the breeze so it was very pleasant there.
Lunch was delicious. The elephant ear fish was put down on display first...a very strange looking fish. It was then whisked away and made into spring rolls. We also had chilly prawns, fried rice, morning glory with garlic, fried spring rolls and another fish dish. A lychee style fruit followed. We left by boat as the other side of the restaurant is directly facing the Mekong River.

I enjoyed a nice meal here with one of the guests from the resort. Cost was very low compare with HCM prices and the food was fine. Rustic atmosphere and open air dining.

Somehow we got here following our Mekong canal excursion and motoring in the boat to another island. Nice restaurant built and furnished in Vietnamese tropical beach motifs. Nice multi platform areas. Clean, spacious, ceiling fans with friendly staff and very good food, featuring the elephant fish served vertically, also fresh spring rolls, soup and pork w rice. Pretty good for this distant location!

We visited this restaurant as part of a tour. These lunches are generally not the ultimate, but this restaurant surprised us entirely with a variety of regional specialties. Service very good, not sure how much English the staff actually speaks.
