Muskegon, Michigan, built on the fur and lumber trade, is now a calm vacation spot on Lake Michigan, calling itself "The Riviera of the Midwest." Sunbathe on several beautiful beaches along Lake Michigan, including Pere Marquette Beach, a certified Great Lakes "clean beach." Everyone is welcome at Bernie O's Pizza. We are the inventors of the infamous "Twist" Pizza, which has been featured on The Food Network as well as winner of several "Best Of" awards at the national, state and local level. If you love pizza, you will love The Twist!
I don't find myself is North Muskegon very often, well, until today, so I ordered the infamous Twister Pizza I had heard so much about. The rumors are absolutely true - this very unique and unlikely combination of pineapple, ranch, peppers and tomatoes is out of this world! The crust is perfection! And I am a thin crust lover! If you find yourself anywhere near North Muskegon or you just have a hankering for a unique pizza experience, try the Twister from Bernie O's - I bet you will be sold to!

The restaurant is in a residential neighborhood with very few tables inside. However, they make a great sandwich. Try the pastrami on rye bread with baby Swiss. Great place to pick up lunch on the go or takeout. Give it a try.

Once again my wife and I had a great experience here. This was probably our 6th time eating dinner here and every meal has been great. The white fish is awesome. The Berkshire Pork Tomahawk is awesome. Love this place. Service is always good. Great atmosphere. A must visit if you are in the area

Haven't eaten there since the early winter 2017, and a lot can change in a restaurant during that time, but nothing did here at The Hobo's...foods still good, service is still good and they let us sit and catch-up with our guests whom we'd not seen for more than 6 months.

Stopped in for a hearty breakfast before heading over to Hoffmaster State Park for a hike after a long Michigan winter. The place had been recommended and after perusing the menu on-line and reading others' reviews, we were excited to go. It did not disappoint!
The place was bustling on this Saturday morning, but we were seated within 5-10 minutes. Even if we had a long wait, the comfortable seating and stacks of Trivial Pursuit cards would have kept us amused. Nice touch!
Our breakfast was delicious, service was great, and the place has a fun, whimsical Route 66-themed vibe. My husband and I shared a Monterey omelette (bacon, avocado, salsa, Monterey jack cheese) and an order of blueberry pancakes with bacon. We often like to both have some savory and sweet for breakfast, so this pairing was a perfect solution for us.
A few highlights to mention - the pancakes can be ordered with real maple syrup for a small up-charge. One of our family mantras is ALWAYS go for real maple syrup when available, it's totally worth it. Next, the toast that so innocently comes with the omelette (we chose sourdough) is not just any store-bought bread - it's from The Village Baker - one of our favorite places and recently voted the fifth best bakery in Michigan! The small offering of homemade jam that accompanied the bread was superb!
So all in all, Toast 'N Jams is the real deal, we will indeed be back!

We do not go to Muskegon, period. But, since our grandson had a wrestling tourney in Norton shore, I checked TA for restaurant recommendations and came up with this one. We decided to try it as the only places that were rated higher were a breakfast place and a higher-end establishment. We were not disappointed. The burgers are big (and we just got the 8oz ones) and, while a bit over cooked, were very tasty. The fries were good also. The service is the best of what you can expect in a place like this and the ambiance is perfect. The only problem is that they put 4 people at a two top and it does not work well. It is a "make the best of a bad situation" situation. It worked for us, as we were only two, but we observed numerous people experiencing difficulty. I realize that they are unlikely to change this, so this is more a warning than anything else.

Excellent pub and grill. A wide variety of items from sandwiches to steak and prime rib. I have gone many times and every meal/experience was great.
This is a pub and grill. The bar has most things but not a good selection of hard cider- Redds and Angry Orchard.
The menu features normal grill type foods but also has hot roast beef or hot Turkey sandwiches, beef stew and a variety of soups, salads and appetizers.
The dinner menu has typical favorites including blue gill and walleye.
This is a popular place. Expect a wait, unless someday they add an expansion. Service is quick.

Our family's experience at Carmen's was as near to perfect as you could get. The entire experience was superior. Even though we arrived on a Sunday, about noon, our party of five was still seated within five minutes by a genuinely friendly hostess. At some restaurants, things tend to go south quickly when they fill to capacity, but at Carmen's the entire staff seemed to be running like a well oiled machine. Taking our orders was efficient, and the food seemed to come very quickly despite every table being filled. Every member of our party remarked that it was the best meal they'd had in our two weekends in Muskegon.
My only complaint is that when the restaurant is full to capacity, the fact they only have two single room restrooms is a bit of a disappointment, but I still give them five stars because everything else was perfect and delicious.
Highly recommended, even at their busiest times.

From the prompt and attentive attention from the Maitre d’ to the thank you from our waitress as we left the ambiance, service and food was terrific. It has been awhile since I have eaten here and had forgotten how good the food was. All entrees are served with a huge side dish and the foot was hot and the plates were attractive. I had mussels and they were delicious which is hard to,do so far from any salt water. The restaurant sits on the shore of Muskegon Lake so the views are of a marina and water. (Or ice in this instance)

all three of the foods names are excellent. A large variety of burger types win angus or mixed with bacon (yes, tried it and better than I thought-bacon makes everything Better), Cajun, black bean...and the variety of toppings makes it your way! The Mexican whether burritos or tacos or fajitas have been quite good also. The steak deal for a top sirloin of 2 for $22 is very good, but I do like their filet mignon is absolutely terrific. Cozy place...sit f towards the fireplace in the back. Arrive early (means before 5p, especially weekend or Fridays) or you can wait 20+ minutes....but worth it if you can.
