Things to do in La Manga del Mar Menor

Visited for the first time with friends who are owners at the Club and we were very impressed.Professional service, friendly and attentive. Incredible location and views of the Mar Menor from the beautiful terrace which is shaded by a very modern design. The food is fresh and elegantly served. The paella was the best we have had in recent years, full of flavour without being too rich or salty as many restaurants serve.Good wine list too at reasonable prices. We will make it a regular place for us.

Italian-Mediterranean fusion restaurant on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
My family and I went for lunch yesterday, we went again today and are going there tomorrow - does that say anything?! That this restaurant is really good!Bistrot 18 is a new La Manga restaurant, right on the beach with amazing views over the Mediterranean Sea and up to the lighthouse at Cabo de Palos. The terrace is lovely and shady and there is also plenty of seating inside, which is decorated beautifully and simply. The food...GO THERE for the food! It's still a bit quiet compared to the restaurant next door but please don't let that put you off! The food is great and the service from Stefan and Dora is lovely and attentive. The menu is reasonably priced, with a choice of 3 salads (recommend the Bistrot 18 salad and also the Piquilo peppers with goats cheese - which is more a large tapas dish than a traditional salad)There are plenty of 8/9 ⬠dishes and we all absolutely LOVED the Boquerones Crujientes al Limon /crispy Fresh anchovies with lemon dressing. So fresh and very more-ish indeed. There are vegetarian dishes like Aubergines Gratinado and the previously mentioned Piquillo peppers. A delicious range of pasta dishes (I had the Garlic Prawn linguine) and also fresh cod, tuna etc. My husband had a fantastic burger which came with fried egg, bacon and all the trimming - but oddly not with fries, but I am sure you could ask for them. There are steaks and gourmet pizzas to try too, though we have not (as yet!)Desserts are lovely though possibly pre-made, which is very common in Spain, I find. I recommend the refreshing mandarin or lemon sorbets and the Strawberry Delicias, a type of light sponge. When we arrived we were served quickly and also a little plate of tapas was brought to the table for no charge - one day it was rilles on toast with olives, the next it was little slices of fresh tuna that had been lightly pan fried and served on little toasts too. Wine choice is very simple - 2 types of red, a rosé and a white, all around 8 euros a bottle, so very reasonable! The rosé is not too sweet at all and the white is quite a dry one. Please do check Bistrot 18 out when you visit La Manga - It's nestled in amongst a big group of busy seafront restaurants but there is plenty of parking, accessed just off the Grand Via. Enjoy!

We enjoyed dinner here overlooking the Mar Menor. It is a truly beautiful place to watch the sun go down. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. My turbot was excellent, cooked perfectly. My husbands mixed fish was splendid, delicious! A nice desert variety. We will definitely be back!

We had Sunday lunch, around 4.00pm. Arrived early and had a drink before being shown to a perfect shady beach side table. The three of us each had a pleasant starter (beef carpaccio, gazpacho and prawns) before enjoying the chicken and seafood paella. Perfect food and setting. This is not the cheapest restaurant but we donât come for cheap food - we return again and again for the food and the location, not to mention the friendly and attentive staff.

Myself and my sister were only in La Manga four nights visiting friends and we managed to visit here four times! Twice for breakfast and twice for dinner. Absolutely top notch staff and service along with great food and cocktails. I really canât say enough about this place and how much myself and my sister enjoyed going here (our friends are regulars). Weâre back later in the year to visit our friends again and we will 100% be returning for a few meals and of course the ginger cosmos. Give this place a try, you wonât be disappointed.

The location for this restaurant is unbeatable, Mar Menor seafront perfect for watching the sun go down. Food is simple but good. We had squid, cuttlefish, octopus and small scallops all lightly grilled and all flavoursome. Add a local tomato and olive and a beer and it makes for a very pleasant meal. Booking recommended.

Nice setting just off the sandy beach, watching the waves. Menu choice mostly fish/seafood. Starters (Sardines and garlic prawns very good, but also ordered a portion of chips which didn't come) Expected service to be laid back (surfers bar) but it was very slow and inattentive. Main meal (Grilled Seafood & 2 portions of chicken) Served at different times. Two mains (Chicken) finished before Seafood for other two diners arrived. Again chips order (a second time) didn't come. One of the chicken peices was raw in the middle - chef later told us thats how he liked it, but if we wanted it cooked more we should have said! They weren't busy when we ate, so can't see why service so poor. Asked for more drinks (Twice) before served. Worst meal of the weeks holiday, will not visit again.

Restaurante mediterráneo
We have driven past this building and never noticed the restaurant but after reading past reviews, we decided to investigate. Canât believe that we havenât eaten here before! Our meal last night was simply delicious and the staff delightful and attentive without pestering! We felt that they offer the best local Mercian cuisine at a sensible price and the sunset over Mar Menor was beautiful. We will return!
