It is clear that these people are well travelled. The execution of both the Thai cuisine and the International cuisine was exceptional!
I stayed here on my Honeymoon in October 2012, after a recommendation from a mate, and I don't regret it one bit - We ate at this restaurant several times during our stay and I have no complaints what-so-ever!
I am a HUGE fan of the cocktails they do, and all of the staff were super friendly and attentive. The view was also great (and very relaxing!) Hopefully one day I will be back!

Situated at the Mekong river the restaurant Krua Anchan, this is the correct spelling and not Un Chan....
Simple cafeteria style setting with view on the Mekong, terras outside possible as well. ( was to windy for the moment)
Great seafood from the local fish "Pla Buck" in a tom yam soup, yam wunsean goong or pla: glass noodles with shrimps or fish, Laab Phed: duck Isaan style..... very delicious..... this food deserves more than 3 stars.... staff very friendly and helpful. Easy to get there take a tuk tuk (60baht) and go up north side of the Mekong river about 15-20 min walk.
Congratulations to the team great seafood experience!!!!

I've been living and working in Mukdahan for the past 5 months and the Steak and Milk has been one of my favourite restaurants from the start. Run by a thai family, it is western themed and acts as a perfect escape from traditional Thailand for a few hours. The food is average, but I recommend the fried rice, french fries and chicken salad which are very nice. All of their fruity frappes are also incredible! The restaurant has a great atmosphere with twinkling lights and their wifi is reliable and free. They stay open until about 10 pm most nights.

Excellent food, good service, wonderful setting and inexpensive . Own car park which is an asset. The Mekong water level is high and work to build up the bank was goling on, which was no fault of the restaurant. Will definately visit again.

I ate here because it was rated the best restaurant in Mukdahan, but surely there must be better places than this.
The old-style wooden building looks nice and has a pleasant riverside location, and the staff were friendly. I ordered Mekong River fish for about B250, it was in batter and didn't have much taste at all.

There are very few restaurants in Mukdahan, this one overlooks the river, so a perfect location.
We couldn't sit outside because of the many insects.
The place is filthy, cobwebs on cobwebs.
The table (& floor) wobble, we put paper tissues under two legs to stabilise!
No charge for BYO wine.
Food was lovely and the chef came to talk to us.

Krua Thai Lao (ครัวไทยลาว) is another excellent Restaurant in Mukdahan. It is on Samran Chai Khong Fang Tai Alley which is next to the Mekong. I spent two nights at Riverfront Hotel on the same road and walked to this Restaurant the second night. It is around 600m 'downstream' from the Hotel, a little bit further than Wine Wild Why, which I went to the previous night. It has an more extensive Menu, which is only in Thai but has numerous photos to help the non-Thai speaker.
The decor has a lot of character, the staff very attentive, the food delicious and reasonably priced.
There is plenty of Carparking available if you didn't want to walk.
