Auntie's Coffee

The best coffee I have had anywhere in Thailand! Located on Mae Sot's main street, they sell excellent handmade magnets and cards and also offer free wifi, cakes, breakfast and smoothies.

Good food, and good (but expensive) coffee. Rude service but the food and drinks are worth putting up with the unfriendly staff and its in a nice central location

Amazing restaurant, on the road from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, 104 road . It is convenient for lunch on the road. Pure Thai food, taste better than the big city of Thai food .One more thing,Tripadvis's map localtion was wrong, use Google Maps to find the restaurant name is the right location.

Located near Mae Naam Ping river in Tak province, the restaurant offers a variety of fine Thai cuisine. Recommended menu are Chitchon Chicken (very crispy and tasty skin) and Naam Prik (spicy paste) Dum Muang Tak, served with local fresh vegetables. The latter, as I talked to the restaurant owner, takes around 2 days to make!! The spicy paste is comprised of minced pork, grilled fish, red onions and garlics. Local recipe, only in Tak province! Must try!!
ps.Beautiful river view is also a plus!

Bankhiangnam Restaurant

Nicely situated on the river bank and not overly expensive, nothing else I can say positive about this restaurant! The food was very slow in coming; our service definitely was inconvenient for the waitress who was more interested in playing with her telephone and as the food arrived it was basically thrown on the table. My Thai partner had to have a word with the waitress as instead of walking behind me and serving the food to my partner she literally shoved the food inches in front of my face to where my partner was sitting beside me. According to our 2 Thai ladies the food was very average and the vote from 2 westerners it was terrible. Not recommended.

Aiyara Wadi Restaurant

My wife and I were recommended this restaurant by the receptionist of the hotel we were staying in. Actually the restaurant itself transliterates its name as "Iyarawadee" and this is on the signage outside as well as on their business card. If you are staying in the main town (on the eastern side of the river), then cross the river via the bridge on the north side of town, turn right and you will find Iyarawadee about 1KM up on the right next to another bar/restaurant.
Situated on the western bank of the River Ping, the restaurant is on three levels with the lowest level right down by the water. The menu is traditional Thai and we enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much that we returned a few days later with some friends and had an equally good time.
The fried morning glory with chilli, pork chop on a hot plate, fish Tom Yum, crispy fried chicken, and chicken with basil and chilli ("Kra-pao Gai") were all excellent.
For a busy restaurant, service was very efficient and the staff attentive and friendly. Prices are not high at all - including drinks it was less than $10 per head. Early evening the music is recorded (jazz) and around 8PM a live band provides a good variety of local favorites without being intrusively loud.
I'm glad that we found this place as we pass through Tak quite regularly and until now had not found a decent place to stop off at for a meal.

Nam Co Co Coffee and Steak

Reviewed By Malcolm J

This is a small cafe within the compound of the Silayak Grand Hotel. It is very clean and the staff are very friendly, although little English is spoken. The food is excellent, and very good value. Not expensive.
There is a mix of western and Asian food on the menu, which is avaiable in English. I had mushroom soup with garlic bread, followed by chicken steak and trimmings. The whole meal was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
