Mbuna Bay is located in northern Mozambique, on the shores of Lake Niassa (Lake Malawi). It is the only lodge on the southern stretch of the Mozambican lake coast. Despite its remote location, at about 15 km south of the Lago District’s capital Metangula, it is easily accessible. The lodge is situated directly at a 300m sandy beach and several rocky bays and is surrounded by original bush land with huge mango and baobab trees. With only nine guest chalets Mbuna Bay offers its visitors peace, tranquility and first class comfort in an authentic African environment.
We find the perfect place to be away of all the noise and confusion of these stranges times!!!...Serenity, tranquility, good food and lovely people...impossible to ask for more...recomend to any family that loves nature and to enjoy the simple things of life with a lot of style!

Amazing location, incredible Italian food and the best pizza in the sub equatorial Africa! Susanna is a master chef and with the local products she is able to prepare incredible dishes. The location is prime directly on the beach. If you want to sleep with the waves background lullaby, this is the place to be.

Morrungulo Bay self catering Beach houses and chalets offers you comfortable and luxurious accommodation in fully appointed units. The Beach houses are situated right on the primary dune overlooking the beach. A quick skip down the dune path and you are on the stunningly beautiful and pristine Morrungulo beach. The Beach Chalets are set back 25m from the dune edge and have uninterrupted sea views across the grassed lawns peppered with coconut trees.Access to the beach is down a dune path and is about a three minute walk. A caretaker is in attendance to assist you with any queries you may have.
Maravilhoso, a descobrir!

We arrived in Cuamba after 12 hot hours on extraordinary train journey from Nampula. We lugged ourselves and our backpacks to local hotels in the town: one full and one awful, so walked back to the station and hired motos + drivers to take us out to the QT. At QT the owner was very helpful: we had a circular thatched hut with en suite, and as we were catching an early chapas next morning to Mandimba he booked us motos to collect us early and take us to the chapas station. One tip: order your meal when you arrive, to avoid a long wait as everything freshly prepared.
