Visited here as result of hotel winning hotel wine list of year and we were really delighted with the experience we had here. Staff were super friendly especially Fergal and there was great atmosphere in restaurant. Starters of cured trout brilliant and so light while mains of lamb three ways outstanding. Dessert of pear so good. Wine list is very extensive with wines from all over the world and gives excellent value. One small crib on wine list while it has some organic wines it is a bit light on biodynamic ,organic and natural wines. We will certainly return to sample chefs tasting dinner in the future.

Wine Bar & Shop - serving artisan cheese and meat boards with breads and other small accompaniments. All products selected daily in the cheese & deli store below the wine bar. Our cheese shop (below the wine bar) serves Irish and European Cheeses along with other Irish Artisan products and cheese accompaniments like crackers, chutneys and jams.
Visiting the Cheesemonger shop we regretted that we were unable to buy a supply as it looked and smelled wonderful. The owner sent us upstairs where a handsome and charming Frenchman listened to our likes and then prepared for us a board of sample meats and cheeses with olives, dill, capers and bread. We added a fantastic Ginger Beer and had a meal that was very memorable.

We visited here twice on a recent stay in Barna. We were looked after by the wonderful George and some of the ladies on the floor. George was particularly charming, chatty and just great at his job. The girls are friendly, efficient and lovely to deal with.
The only down side was the chap behind the bar with the glasses. His attitude seems to be very different to that of the rest of the Team. He was sharp with us and just didn’t seem friendly or interested.
Again, the girls are great and George is an absolute gem. He makes such a difference to the vibe in the place. I hadn’t been here in a long time and this was my first visit since George started and I can tell you...this was a smart hiring decision! He is a real find.
This is a great bar, the food is superb and it’s really comfortable. I’d love to have a Donnellys on my doorstep...I’d be your best Customer!!

We were in Galway on a bussiness trip and this restaurant was recommended to us. Chowder and fish was really excellent. Service and sea-view on was nice too. Don't hesitate to go and have a meal here!

A destination in its own right, The Pins is loved by locals and overnight guests alike. In addition to an incredible food menu there is an equally incredible selection of cocktails, beers and wines. The Pins is a great place to enjoy good coffees, breads 'just out of the oven' from the on-site bakery and tantalising local produce infused with flavours from around the world. Catch a Traditional Irish Music session and see Galway's finest Jazz acts. Open from 8am for breakfast, serving great local food all day, everyday and Night. Acclaimed for its use of local ingredients and noted as making the 'Best Pizza outside of Napoli', The Pins has one gourmet rosette for culinary excellence. Winner of 'the Best Gastro Pub in Ireland' and 'The Best Casual Dining in Ireland'.
My family and I have been to the Twelve many times when visiting family in Ireland. In fact my daughter had her baptism dinner there before it was transformed from the Twelve Pins pub to the The Twelve boutique hotel. But sadly whilst the decor has improved the food hasn’t, at least not in the pub. The pizza is great but they are taking style over substance to new limits. If you want your fish served in bite sized pieces and ~9 chips in a useless aluminium flower pot then this is the place. If you want proper fish and chips then go elsewhere.

Visited here with my husband for our anniversary dinner and had some genuinely sublime seafood. Prawns and ceviche to start, prawns were delicious and ceviche had quite an unusual twist, very tasty though. Monkfish with mussels and Gurnard for mains, both excellent and extremely fresh. Portion sizes were good, couldn't quite finish my main. What really adds to the whole experience here is the staff - so super friendly and really warm and welcoming. Will certainly be back.

Where do I even start? Just wow. I just cannot get over the shockingly good experience of this restaurant. I had never heard of it in my life. I was in Moycullen only to have a guitar amp of mine repaired by a local audio specialist. The repair man mentioned an American style diner in town to have my lunch in. I am an extraordinarily fussy person when it comes to food. I would normally expect an American style diner to be "ok" at best. Nothing special, but nothing awful. Well Tony's is different. They seem to hand todays newspaper to everybody to read while waiting for their food. I've never seen any restaurant do this. Its a whole lot better than sitting there counting every second until the food comes out. What a nice little touch.
The restaurant its self has a real homely feel to it. Its not ultra sleek modern like some McDonalds or something. You can tell it wasn't designed by some fruity designer who goes for form over function. You can tell that it was put together by a normal person the way they wanted it. Its just real and down to earth.
Now, enough teasing. Lets get down to the brass tax. The food. Its not an overly complicated menu with 500 different items. Its got what you need. I honestly didn't spend too much time looking at it as my eyes were drawn to the first Burger on the menu.
I can't recall the name, but it was top of the list. That Burger. 8oz (2 patties), real cheese, bacon and Taco sauce. I opted to leave out the optional lettuce, tomato and onion. The cheese was delicious and the proper amount. Not too much, not too little. Just perfect. The burger patties were cooked perfectly and were 10 times more flavourful than any fast food restaurant. The Taco sauce was delicious. The bun was fabulous, although I'd love to try it with a Brioche bun (but thats just me being in love with Brioche buns and wanting to use them for everything. The actual bun was still the best regular bun I've ever had). The Bacon. Oh boy. That bacon. Cooked to perfection. Crispy, but not crunchy and certainly not soggy. It was perfection. Whoever cooked that bacon deserves double pay. The burger was assembled perfectly. It was assembled in a way that I would. It was done in a way as the conserve ingredients. It was done as if they were making it for themselves. No holding back. They tool the time to put cheese on in the middle of the two patties as well as on top of the top one. Not only that, but they did it with the bacon too! Double bacon layers! Its the little things that show that they are passionate about making good food and not just ticking the items on the ingredients list. It was assembled with thought. Oh, and lest I forget the 5-6 onion rings that were sitting on top of the burger around a Skewer. I'm normally someone who dislikes onions, but these were rather nice. The batter was nice an crispy while the onion inside was cooked enough to be soft and lose that edge that I dislike about onions. The chips/fries were just right too. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
I didn't want to say it, because I'm very VERY hard to please, but that really was the nicest burger I've ever had. That really is saying something. I am incredibly fussy about things.
My one and only complaint is a huge one though. I live too far away to come here more often! I guess I'm going to have to come up with some excuses to come to Moycullen more often!

This was my first visit. I must admit I was most suspicious when I saw all the 5 star reviews because such consistency is impossible .. so draw your own conclusions.
This place is good and it's not a tourist trap. The food is of the veggie and Med variety. It's well prepared .. plated and served. By Galway standards it's an adventurous menu. Staff and service excellent, It's good and I will be back! It's a very good 4 star .. really good and worth a visit!
