How can it get better? You go for breakfast. Nothing but great stuff, with popovers, of course. AND you pay what you want with proceeds going to feed those in need. Probably my most expensive and rewarding breakfast ever. Why wouldn't you over contribute?

This is right in the main part of town and the espresso was very good. Not really any place to sit and pretty much for take away.

Mount Desert Island Ice Cream is closed for the season until spring 2018.

Mount Desert Island Ice Cream makes handmade artisanal ice cream and sorbets in Bar Harbor and Portland, Maine. We have been named one of the top ice cream shops by Food and Wine.
We visited this ice cream shop after reading they offer unusual flavors and are highly recommended. We were not disappointed. We both tried two flavors, I had Blueberry Sour Cream Streusel and Maple Walnut and my wife had Bay of Fig and Basil. Everything was wonderful, creamy and delicious but the Basil ice cream was outstanding. If you like basil, you must try this icecream!

Maine's big on blueberry and I visited 4 ice cream places on Bar Harbor area just to try out blueberry ice creams! Mount Desert is the best of all! You really can't find blueberry ice creams easily outside of Maine area and it's a must try! My kids loved them as well!

The Acadia Corporation, the former operators of the Jordan Pond House and stewards of its traditions, is excited to be managing the Asticou Inn & Restaurant. The Asticou and the Jordan Pond House have a shared history originating in the 19th century of offering respite in the midst of the glacial beauty of Mount Desert Island.
We dropped by in mid-afternoon and treated ourselves to a delicious bowl of seafood chowder and popovers. We chose outside seating (it was a nice, sunny day) and had a wonderful bird-s eye view of the harbor. Our waitress was attentive and brought us WARM popovers with butter and jam as soon as we placed our order. Took me right back to my childhood and my mom making wonderful popovers. The chowder was luscious - creamy and full of different types of seafood with great flavor. As we were finishing our chowder the waitress brought us our second warm popover with more butter. Delicious!
They offer a nice menu with a variety of choices and desserts. Was a very relaxing meal at a nice slow pace, in a wonderful setting!

If you were to go to their website, you would see their specialized coffee offerings but you would see no prices made public. They want the Martha Stewarts as customers and will charge everybody else the same price. Not worth it and it's insulting.

Stopped on a whim. The ladies had fresh blueberry pies ready. We missed the triple berry pies which we were told were the best, but didn't thrill we'd be disappointed the the blueberry pie we planned on taking back to the cabin.
In the meantime we had whoopie pies on the spot. Had no idea these were the main Maine dessert.
I'm not saying these were life changing, but I have a whole new understanding of whoopie now. Do yourself a favor and make the drive over. Exactly the right balance of the cake not being too sweet but the cream filling being whipped perfection.
The blueberry pie was nearly the same experience. Not too sweet, but completely sweettooth satisfying. The crust was flaky and yummy on its own.
Whatever they're selling, I'm buying!

Phil & Kelly Corson welcome you to their family owned and operated lobster takeout restaurant. Previously located at our old location 864 State Hwy. 3, we have moved to our new location - a brand new building, more parking and full restrooms. The Corson family has been lobstering for generations. Captain Phil delivers the freshest catch daily. Customers can hand pick their own lobsters. We are most known for our lobster dinners of lobster, mussels, corn, and melted butter along with our "overflowing" lobster roll. We pick our lobster meat fresh daily sometimes twice. We provide the best of local seafood at affordable prices. We have outdoor seating only. Open late May - October. We've added fire pits and tower heaters for the ultimate outdoor eating experience!
Had the lobster dinner for 2 for $33! Very casual dining, picnic style, fireside with a lantern. The food, the ambience, the price-couldnt be better!!!

Locally owned Family Run Cafe and Ice Cream shop. 19 Years providing great homemade foods with fast friendly service
We stopped in on a cool, rainy afternoon to warm up with some soup and coffee. I had the chili and cornbread which was tasty and hearty. My spouse had the minestrone soup and enjoyed it. The coffee was a little weak to my liking.
Their cookies looked good and were huge! They also had ice cream and meal options. There was a small seating area and takeout as an option.
