The room had all the necessary amenities, including a comfortable bed, microfridge, hair drier and other stuff. There was also a continental breakfast with eggs, waffles, biscuits and gravy.

Not enough quality, no Mayvweet
Reviewed By TR26I am a regular guest in the Choice hotels chain, and almost always they provide all that I need and expect--but here, a lot was lacking. Is it corporate failing to maintain standards, or some locals slipping through? In any case, disappointing. I expect a Quality Inn to be the chain's second-tier lodgings. In fact, I'm in one now, it has interior hallways and suites with a hot tub (whic I am happy to pay extra forr) and a level of quality just below a luxury hotel. Mount Airy was more on the level I'd expect from an Econo-lodge, so may be they need to re-brand. We arrived to be informed by the very nice desk clerk that they had only second floor rooms and no elevator--so our senior-citizen knees had to lug baggage up the stairs. In the rain. I expect a Quality Inn to have elevator, interior hallways, and not rooms that open onto the parking lot. The room was decent and looked clean, except for the soap wrapper that housekeeping hadn't noticed on the bath room floor. One of the queen beds had an od tult to it, not an issue since we share but might be for a family. I have never before been in a hotel, even a very spartan one, that didn't have facial tissues in the room. I am happy that the hot breakfasts have returned, but this one had no fresh fruit, the juice machine was out or order, and they ran out of muffins quite early. A perpetual issue for me is the basic deesign of a room wherfe the show and loo are in a tiny room and the sink is open to the bed area. What wtupid designer thinks that it's just fine to wake your companion by turning on a light so you can shave in the morning? Wprse, the light switch for the loo is in the outer wall so you can't even turn that room light on without potentially waking your bedmate. If I was travelling alone and wanted to go on the cheap and I got a room like this for $60 or less I'd not complain. When I pay $120 for the room, I don't expect cheap and careless.

The decor is from the late 90's, bath fitter shower that creaks when standing on it, bathroom tiles cracking. Super gross carpet. Stained cloth furniture. I mean the kind of place you sleep in your clothes on top of the sheets. Eek.

We used the pool and it was ok. Stuff was friendly. I wouldn’t stay here longer than 2 night however if you need to rest this property is okay to do so. Thank you for your hospitality.

Which is unfortunate since it has a great location right along the Mayberry Greenway. Quick easy access to excellent (semi-level) walking and biking.

Reviewed By Stephen LWonderful room, with many thoughtful amenities, but on arrival we were handed a $10 gift certificate to go for breakfast at the "Snappy Lunch" (evidently, a popular tourist spot). I was skeptical about $10 buying breakfast for two (which the host laughed off as "Oh, you Northerners -you don't know the South!"), but in actually the "Snappy Lunch" is closed on Mondays ... so we got a useless piece of paper... So FORGET the beautiful picture of breakfast on the listing!
