The buildings date from several different centuries so styles vary: highlights include the early 20th-century Basilica of Santa Luzia; the 16th-century fountain and former city hall building at the Praça da República; the gothic Cathedral on the Largo da Matriz; and the Monument to Caramuru and Paraguaçu, built just a few years ago in 2009.

A small and cosy restaurant, managed by nice and friendly people, that serves all the good 'petiscos' the north of Portugal has to offer. The pig ear, octopus, chicken gizzards, 'rojões', grilled veal slice, and 'alheira' were all we could have wished for, well cooked, well seasoned and quickly served (we only felt that the veal slice could be bigger, but it was cooked to perfection). We also tried a mixed board of cheeses and 'chouriços' and tripes, which though they were fine we felt we could have tasted them anywhere in the country. Another thing they can improve is simply replacing the white bread with some other more suited to dip into all that delicious sauce that comes with their 'petiscos'.The staff was attentive and helpful, consistently trying to ensure all was well and even striking conversation with us (this is a local restaurant in a tiny village, and we were clearly outsiders) telling us about their history.Summing it up: Great service, tasty and comforting food, a perfect place to eat with friends while sharing some wine, a must go.Obrigada pela preferencia

A restaurant concept Only in portugal The best of the Iberian gastronomy gathered in a single space Bellota hams, charcuteria bellota Grilled acorn Iberian pork meats Wines and craft beer
This little place is themed around iberian pork, either as smoked sausages and smoked ham or fresh and grilled to the point of delightful juiciness. I went for the grilled "plumes", small and tasty little chunks of meat, served with small green peppers of Padrón. If you dont know these peppers, they are sort of a surprise food, as some of them are sweet and others are spicy, you never know which one you'll bite next! A good and refheshing side dish for the pork. The restaurant also takes pride in its selection of wines, so do order some even if only by the glass. A great place and much needed in this city where tapas-style restaurants were missing (up till now...).If you have some room left after the main meal, do est the desert - traditional and delicious.thank you for your visit see you soon

Good choice for a restaurant opened late at night. Unfortunately the meat wasn´t so good. The bacalhau was very tasty. The dishes are very big, so, it´s posible to share. Friendly staff.

Outstanding food as result of the top quality ingredients, cooked with the heart by the chef and owner of this small place. The couple received me as if I was at home, such a pleasant experience. They also have a cared selection of local products, from olive oil to wine, salt or cookies.
