It is 28 kilometres (17 miles) east of Faro and 75 kilometres (47 miles) west of Huelva across the Río Grande (Rio Guadiana) into Spain. The Gilão River meets the Atlantic Ocean in Tavira. We wandered into this restaurant to ask directions, and ti seemed so interesting that we came back in the evening. We were very glad that we did. The menu is distinctly odd, basically tapas and snacks, but they turned out to be unusually good. They do all sorts of good things with tuna and bacalao, and an excellent little beef sandwich. We kept wanting to order more. They also had some good deserts. We were served by a couple of Angolan (I think) who couldnpt hve been friendlier or more eager. We will go back here next time.

Lovely unassuming little cafe bar serving very good tapas. We had bread and olives, grilled cheese with oregano, smoked mackerel and tomato and fresh cheese bruschetta. All fresh and delicious. Clearly a family run business and very friendly

We stopped here whilst having a walk around. We originally stopped for a cider, but ended up having tapas. Its sligjtky further along the river.On the first visit, we had the mixed board, which had a mixture of cheeses and meats, and the prawns. The second time we visited we had the same again, but with the eggs and chorizo. It was all very tasty and freshly cooked. It didnt all come out together, just when it was ready.It was the same girl that served us both times. She was really nice, and when we went back the 2nd time, she remembered us from the first time and knew what we ordered previously.We sat outside both times, but there is seating inside as well. A lovely place that we hope to visit again.

Nice friendly service, good menu as something for everyone. The burger was lovely and seemed freshly made, good fresh salad too. Nice seating outside Very reasonable prices.
