IL POSTO is a new caffe-brunch-bar in the center of Skiathos at the intersection of the two most central pedestrian streets of the island (Papadiamantis & Evangelistria). Here you will find the best coffee on the island as well as all kinds of breakfast,
This is tucked away down a side street but when were visiting. There are great fresh smoothies and fruit juice cocktails available. The porridge breakfast is crowded with fresh fruit and yoghurt and worth a try, as well as the pancakes which are massive. Warning, one pancake with fruit and oats and yoghurt is enough for two.

After a few days in Skiathos you can become a bit travel-weary with the standard Greek fare available almost everywhere. At that point you really need to look this place up. The food, from starters to dessert, was all excellent, to the point where we actually went back there on a second night (virtually unheard of when there is so much choice).The first time we all had the meat and cheese selection as a starter, plus the garlic bread (beautifully presented, almost like a cornish pasty) - then we were all stuffed before we even had a chance to start on the pizzas that we had ordered. The pizzas were fantastic, top quality ingredients on a base that had just the right amount of chewiness and crispiness. This was REAL pizza, not the pre-manufactured stuff you get elsewhere, you could tell everything is freshly made.The second time we skipped the starter so that we could try the desserts instead. For mains we mixed it up a bit and had pasta dishes as well as a pizza (because it was so good). Again, everything was excellent, the traditional carbonara is to be recommended. Dessert was the torte caprese and tiramisu, both great.Both meals were finished off with a complimentary shot of kahlua topped with milk foam - delicious.For us, this was the best place to eat in Skiathos, even though it wasn't Greek food.
