Discover Restaurants offering the best Wine Bar food in San Sebastian - Donostia, Province of Guipuzcoa, Spain. While many visitors come for the beaches, arts celebrations and fiestas, San Sebastian-Donostia is serious about its food and drink. The Old Quarter’s narrow, winding streets are full of bars and restaurants, and in the modern city, sidewalk cafes are all around. The city specializes in seafood. Just make sure you know not to expect dinner at 6 or 7 p.m.—that’s much too early in Spain. Instead, tide yourself over with tapas, and enjoy eating and drinking late into the night.

Great food. Donât take the plates and eat the paint shows one by one, and the ones that are hot or amazing. Once they make them for you fresh in the kitchen. Just delicious, the wild mushroom crêpes, The tomato salad, actually, just everything that you can think of is good they are. Service is great and itâs all family-owned which is just wonderful. A wine bar in Gros. We have local and fresh products and an international touch on cooking. We love small producers and in the bar we always play music from a record player. Relax, we cook you eat.
Some of the best food we had in San Sebastián. Amongst all the seafood and meat it was lovely to encounter a restaurant that really celebrates local seasonal vegetables. Everything we had was made to perfection. So simple but so delicious, we were blown away. Also also the best wine list we saw as well.Wines from many regions of Spain all from very small producers. Whoever put the wine list together, really cares. Service was amazing, great ambiance music love the decor as well.

While a great location, service and value left in various respects a lot to be desired. Service was just ok. Having dined at Arzak (world class service), Rekondo didn't even come close (although wasn't horrible). The food was lacking for the price. Especially the EUR 38 ($50) lobster appetizer which was nearly not recognizable it was so small, and provided about 5 small bites of lobster. Equally unimpressive was the "signature" suckling pig, which was a small, crusted ball. The Basque Cake with chocolate ice cream was very good. All in all, not a very imprssive experience for what amounted to an $150 lunch for 2 (only 1 glass of wine).

Our group of 7 arrived fairly late for dinner, without reservations and starving after long flights from the US. They could not have been more accommodating. We had a large assortment of delicious small plates and they recommended some lovely local wines. They even serve the fabulous Joselino jamon. What a great evening!
