'Selene' restaurant was established in 1986 in Fira, Santorini by Yiorgos and Evelyn Hatziyannakis. Our aim was from the very start, to show and promote the local products along with the local cuisine hoping that this will enable us to transmit to our gue
Every visit to Santorini includes a dinner in Selene Restaurant. Although the expectations are higher every year we have never been deceived. Comes may, begins the tension to see what the new menu will bring. It is simply amazing how they manage to find a high skilled chef every year. This year ouyr minds were blown away by the octopus (starter) and the pigeon (main). With the selected wine (by the glass) a perfect match ! As for desert : their interpretaion of 'cake' - that's the simple description on the menu- proves how much research is invested in this restaurant.Small portions, utterly high in taste, visually very attractive, a story to every wine on the elaborate list, worth every euro...Thank you Selene for another fantastic culinary experience!

Great to try a selection of traditional greek dishes. Having done this at most restaurants we visited during our week there, a few places were tastier than here, and a lot cheaper. The waiter was knowledgeable about the wine. I had asked for some of the dishes to be catered to a vegan diet and this was forgotten (asking for yoghurt to be on the side of the plate, but the food arrived touching yoghurt) but the food overall was nice. Thank you for your review. We have had many times similar requests, such as yours and we always do our best to deliver. We are sorry to read that the yoghurt was not properly placed, so as not to touch your food. We have made a notice so our staff in the kitchen can be more careful in the future. Thank you again for your visit.

We went there for my friend's birthday and really enjoyed our night in scala. The food was really good and anesiss who served us was an incredible waiter. He even brought a birthday waffle courtesy of the house for the birthday girl, which by the way was super delicious. I had the hummus octopus which was superb as well. Would definitely go again!Thank you Anesiss!

A place which focus on Greek wines match it with Greek traditional recipes surrounded by pieces of art from Greek painters and sculptures
We stopped over by co-incidence at this lovely place, as we walked through beautiful traditional old town of âMegalochoriâ. The two young winemakers are doing a great job - mixing greek traditional cuisine with exceptional european fusion components, accompanied by tremendous wine selection! If you want to explore Santorini wines, but also the flagship wines from Greece - this should be a must stop-over while visiting Megalochori/Santorini.On Sunday we will go back for dinner, tbc...
