D'Vine Bar is a lively spot offering excellent food and innovative cocktails plus an extensive list of beers and wines. The food menu is arranged according plate sizes such as "smallest" and "small-ish." To start, we had the broccoli teriyaki bites, which are listed as "small", the dip-it.dip-it, which is listed as smallest and two orders of the taco of the day. The broccoli teriyaki bites are addictive, crunchy and flavorful. The dips were good, but ordinary. The grilled shrimp tacos each had two large pieces of shrimp and various topping; tasty, but somewhat on the bland side. Our main courses included the charred broccoli salad (excellent, plenty of veggies and very tasty ramen as a base); smoked beet salad (also delicious, although not as large a portion as the broccoli); the "London Calling," chicken katsu, and sunny side tuna tartar were each a work of art and delightful. Cocktails were all great fun and well made. The Yuzu Sour is a great hot weather choice. Some of the prices are high, such as for several of the fish dishes, but overall with starters, entrees, drinks, coffee, and one shared dessert, our bill with the tip was $340 for 5 people. Given the quality of the food, this is a bargain and if you live in the area, there is no toll to pay or parking fee to enjoy a meal that is as good as any you will find in Manhattan.

We had a very good dinner here. I love that the risotto had two different sizes - large and small. Perfect size and really good. The watermelon salad with olives, mint, and cheese was awesome. I couldn't get enough! The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff attentive and polite. Plus, being in town allowed you to take a walk on Main street afterwards. Perfecto!

Located in the village of Piermont NY only one mile from the Bergen County NJ border, BASQUE TAPAS BAR offers a variety of Spanish Tapas, Paella, Sangria and specialties from Northern Spain.
We dined here on a Friday night. They don't take reservations for 4, but we had no trouble being seated. We were told that the next time we return they will take our reservation. The restaurant is small and the noise level for a Friday night was tolerable. Usually when there's a bar close by the noise level is unpleasant, but this was not. Later, a group with one very shrill voice was seated by us and that changed the noise level considerably. The service was fine and the food was delicious. We ordered drinks, which oddly arrived one at a time. No trays? Then the waiter brought us 4 slices of good bread with olive oil. Water was not offered unless we asked for it. We had the octopus, the scallop tapas and the special seafood paella. The paella was delicious--the seafood was plentiful, fresh and tender. The rice was correctly cooked. We 4 ordered the paella for 4 and ate it down to the last grain of rice. We shared the flan, which was excellent. There is valet parking, which is helpful in Piermont. We all agreed that we will be returning.

Friends invited us to join them for dinner and brought us here. They had been wanting to eat at Communal Kitchen for a while as they had heard good things about this restaurant. Good news for us was when we walked in, our table was ready...no waiting or artificial seating times here which was great as we were very hungry! We ordered a bunch of appetizers for the table, which we really liked...the spicy meatballs were terrific...and not too spicy for us. The Yucca fries, interesting but not over the top, the burrata was excellent and the candied bacon got inhaled! We tried different entrees too with the short ribs and mac & cheese being our favorites. Overall, we were very pleased with our meal...the service was first rate but not intrusive and the price reasonable for all the food/drink we ordered. Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes...well, we're getting the candied bacon for sure.
