Besides the fact that you can come to have a guided tour throughout the winery, vineyards, wine cellar and a classic car museum you can also have wine tastings and lunch. We think that the best food is usually the simple food made with high quality ingred
The van picked us up from our local friend's house, and we were whisked off to the winery, just about 30 minutes out of town. We were given a great tour by a gentleman who spoke English, Spanish and Portuguese, and he was able weave the three together so that all of us in the group were attended to. After, we had a wonderful 5 course meal, with a wine paired with each, followed by dessert with a little grappa on the side. We were quite thankful for the van for the ride back home. The day was a little pricey, but well worth the cost for a lovely day in mid May.

In a recent visit to Montevideo with a group of Brazilian winemakers, we stayed at My Suites hotel and had the chance to be at two wine tasting nights at the My Wine Bar. Very good experience, conducted by the sommelier with simplicity and deep knowledge. He also included a tasting of two samples of olive oil.The wine selection of the cellar is very especial and the food complement the experience as well as the attentive service staff.

If you want to buy Uruguayan wine, they have a nice selection. Service is average, I had to wait because the person helping me got interrupted by another shop assistant. Instead of telling the person to wait, after all he was with a customer, he had me waiting. However, if you want to buy Uruguayan wine to take home, it's worth it.
