I'm an American journalist and movie reviewer. I went to this restaurant to interview the owner Nando Irene, a noted Italian actor. Upon our arrival, my photographer and I were greeted with the famous Lucano hospitality and of course, regional delicacies.. peperoni cruschi and Aglianico wine.. a little piece of heaven. Nando and his entire staff were extremely attentive to anything we needed. The ambience of the restaurant is warm and unique, and reminded me a bit of home with the American retro furniture and soulful music blaring from the jukebox. I highly recommend this locale. It's a must-visit when in Matera!

This little trattoria is the perfect place to have lunch in Matera: itâs very central and has space inside and out. The menu is simple yet has all the options you need. The plates are only local products (cheese, bread, ham...) and very generous. Delicious delicious!

We had salads (you select the ingredients), focaccia, and house wine for â¬15.50 - a steal. The marinated vegetables for the salad were flavorful, the house was a great mellow red, and the bread was soft with a tasty and lightly herb infused. It was a nice cool break eating inside on a warm day. Highly recommended.
