Always nice at the end of a hiking day to finish the day with a good glass of wine. In winter time the fireplace is very cosy

A visit to the Bistro is the ideal way to refresh yourself after a visit to the museum or if you are simply passing by. Located in the former Habsburg officersâ mess at the heart of the Franzensfeste complex, the Bistro serves regional and seasonal dishes
Very nice cafe in historic surroundings. The staff is friendly and you can sit in the courtyard. Another huge advantage the roofs are covered in light night rods as the the Franzenfeste used to be an arms and gun powder depot for hundreds of years⦠No need to be afraid of lighting .. always good news..

We were recommended to eat at this restaurant by the chef of the hotel we were staying in nearby. The restaurant is located in the "Lodenwelt". The staff were very friendly and professional. Our starters were Tuna tartare and an interestingly presented warm calf's head, very good. We both ate the slow cooked Beef for main course which was amazing with pureed potatoe, all well presented. We chose wine by the glass which reccomedet the sommelier, well priced and complimentary to the meal itself. We come back!

We had a very enjoyable experience visiting this monastery with its beautiful gardens, breath-taking Basilica, and famous wines. The bar / cafe is open throughout the day so we were still able to order local cheese plate and ham, and tried out several wines by glass. The two cheeses made with Lagrein wine and herb respectively were to die for, and the wines are fabulous. To taste more of the monastery wines we go for the tasting option, which has almost all of the monastery's wines at good value of euro per tasting size. The tasting charge will be deducted from each bottle of wine one end up buying from the shop next door. The staff serving there are very friendly and willing to help. Definitely worth spending a few hours here while visiting Alto Adige.

The place to taste excellent wines thoroughly selected by the owner. Great wine list, very friendly service of a knowledgeable host, delicious snacks - I can especially recommend great cheese selection with local spicy marmalade, in combination with white wines from the region Alto Adige.

My wife and I had dinner at the gasthof Haller in Bressanone / Brixen. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We sat in the balcony section that had a view over the city. Our meal of mixed grill was tasty and well prepared. The braised ribs were particularly notable. The Haller is located about a 2-3 min drive (15-20 min walk) outside the main city center up a hill, which accounts for the views. It is well with it to get well prepared locally source dishes.
