The wine here was good enough to buy a few bottles. We didn't eat, just came in for a tasting. We were disappointed by the service - after receiving outstanding service at all of the other wineries we'd been to, First Drop was a bit of a let down. The staff were not particularly friendly or eager to impart their knowledge, and we felt a little unwelcome. Perhaps the service person was just having an off day, but can't say we'd come back or recommend.Hi Clare,Thanks for taking the time to offer your feedback. It's sorely disappointing that we weren't able to deliver the level of service and enjoyment that should be expected from First Drop Wines. We'll take your comments on board and I hope that if you're back in the area you'd give us another opportunity to show you why so many enjoy their visits. Apologies for the delay in responding. If you have any personal comments or feedback please email me on [email protected]

We almost did not go inside because of the irritating loud music blasting out into the peaceful night at Kingscote, Kangaroo Island. So very glad we thought â what the heck, letâs give it a tryâ. Inside we found the staff friendly and a great atmosphere. We were assisted with our ordering and were served a fantastic meal with excellent wines. Thank you to everyone who contributed to a wonderful night.

This local pub/restaurant offered a really good variety of meals and drinks, all well priced. Having read a number of recent reviews I cannot identify with these as this was really not our experience. My wife and I both chose an ante pasta followed by kangaroo loin with a red wine jus and vegetables â¦which was all well cooked and well-seasoned. Wines and beer are all good, as is the service and cleanliness. The establishment offers made to order food, tasty and features prompt service. There is good parking and the restaurant is well located on Murray Street.

The cellar door is perched high over a sloping view to the sea and South Aust. The wines were quite nice and were different to the usual fare, the Riesling was very light and crisp, the sav blanc a delight, not impressed with the chardy.food options were cheese board, pizza etc. Had the pizza (only one option on the day) It was tasty but a little too much aioli squeezed on topDon't rush in, rush out. sit and relax staring at the view and tastingThanks for your review.Glad you enjoyed our Cape Hart Riesling and Grassy Flat Sauvignon Blanc. It sounds like you had a very relaxing afternoon!
