Looked this bistro up on Trip Advisor and liked the sound of the reviews. We were not disappointed, we sat outside in the private courtyard and had a great experience. The food was tasty and fresh and the service was excellent, our boys, ages 10 and 13 enjoyed it too. We were recommended this restaurant and it didnât disappoint! Apart from good food, the whole evening is entertaining, from the lamb shank being pulled apart with forks at the table to the picanha Beef being sliced to order onto your plate .. as often as you like!! The icing on the cake was the pineapple, grilled and sliced to order as a post-Beef/mini-pud!! Delicious!! Staff are great, and very helpful .. and there is a hint of fun all the way through the evening. The only downside was the soggy chips ...Dear juliefromsurrey,Thank you for your review and contribution to our restaurant.It is very rewarding to read that you have enjoyed your dining experience at Beef & Wines. My friends & I had drinks at this establishment & there 1997 & 2004 tipples were they said superb accompanied with chocolates.The service was also tops, the owner explained everything to us on the vintages & which chocolates would bring out the flavors more. ( He new his craft ! )My only criticism is I had a small bottle of still water, which cost 4 euros a little steep.Yes you are right, wine is cheap, water is expensive...Are you sure that you didn't had 2 bottles of water? Or there was a mistake of mine, sorry. Bottle of water is 2 euros. Still expensive I know!

We are frequent visitors to Madeira but this was our first visit to Mad Market so wish we'd found it earlier. The waiting staff are excellent friendly without being intrusive also helpful fetching wines to the table which they feel will compliment your meal & the choice for us was spot on. The food was delicious we were disappointed that we just couldn't manage a dessert but we will return & intend to 'pace ourselves' on our next visit.Thank you for taking some time to share your opinion about MadMarket and for giving us such a wonderful âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸ review! Our concept is slightly different from the regular restaurant locations, with a different, more relaxed approach, with different environments: restaurant, snacks, cellar, fruit shop, market and typical products from Madeira.
