Wein ist immer Geschmackssache, deshalb sollte jeder seinen Favoriten selbst suchen und finden. Bei Engelmanns gibt es neben einem fantastischen Ausblick bodenständige Gerichte und Weine. Wir gehen seit Jahren immer wieder gerne hin. Exotische Menüs suchen wir dort genauso wenig wie Auktionsweine, es gibt immer mal wieder ein neues Tagesgericht. Wir wurden bisher nicht enttäuscht.Das Publikum ist überwiegend fortgeschrittenen Alters, sucht keine Ãberraschungen und so wird keiner enttäuscht.In anderen Portalen habe ich gelesen, dass das Personal motzig sei. Wer das bei Engelmanns so empfindet, ist im Rheingau vielleicht generell nicht so gut aufgehoben

Die Weinlagen auf der Insel Marienaue sind schon etwas besonderes! Die sollte man schon probieren. Das ist ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Deshalb aber für faat alle Inselweine zwischen ca. 30 und 80 Euro aufzurufen ist zuviel des Guten! Es gibt nur 1-2 Inselweine darunter und auch Weine im 3stelligen Bereich. Die nicht Inselweine mit bekannten, guten Rheingauer Weinlagen sind qualitativ gut aber im Vergleich zur zahlreichen, guten Rheingauer Konkurenz ebenfalls überteuert. Rein für den Namen würde ich den Preisaufschlag hier nicht bezahlen wollen.Meine Empfehlung: Trinken in der Vinothek den Insel-WeiÃwein WeiÃburgunder mit Chardonnay und essen sie einen Flammkuchen dazu! Der ist im Prris-Leistungsverhältnis akzeptabel und gleichzeitig der günstigste Inselwein. Wenn sie die Gelegenheit haben, nehmen sie an einer Kellerführung teil.

Two couples, we stopped for drinks and cake & coffee Saturday afternoon after enjoying a walk along the edges of the river Rhein. Although the place was rather busy, a very kind student promptle showed us to a table and attended us very well. Home-baked cakes were delicious, cups of coffee provided with two sugars each and ample milk. Wines and sparkling and of good quality, although unfortunately you cannot taste (not even at cost) the top line "ultra", which by now has become our favourite. I missed late harvest and/or ice wine on the tasting menue too.If you buy at least 6 bottles, you get the five variety tasting for free, otherwise it is EUR 6 which is a decent price too. We bought three boxes and were allowed to decide freely what we wanted to taste from the menue, nevertheless they might wish to consider offering the specialties too at cost.

Wir waren hier mit einer gröÃeren Gruppe und wurden sehr freundlich empfangen.Im Wintergarten sitzt man sehr schön und lauschig.Die Weinauswahl bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas, besonders die Spezialitäten des Weinhofs sind empfehlenswert.Die Speisekarte ist abwechslungsreich, aber einfach gehalten, hier sollte man sich auf eher rustikale Küche einstellen.Es handelt sich hier eben zum einen Gutsausschank, nicht um ein klassisches Restaurant. Meine Speisen haben mir gut geschmeckt und passten gut zum Wein.Die Gruppe hatte einen sehr schönen Abend, wir wurden durchgängig gut, freundlich und kompetent versorgt.Für Weinliebhaber, die es gerne auch mal rustikal mögen, also bestens geeignet!

We have eaten there twice recently with the kids and the place has been revisited by the extended family since the 60's. Ok, they haven't done much of refurbishments ever since but that adds in to the rustic charme of the 60's. Also everything is very clean and the service was really good.The food plates are of good quality, enough to eat even for a hungry man and they also offer good value menus for the kids. You can get a small ice cream dessert for the kids for a Euro if you ask friendly.Of course you also want to visit the Winzerhaus for the wine. Well, I'm not the greatest expert of wine but I can tell a decent quality. The white wines they have to me are really tasty and good and you can get a glass for less than two Euro. I haven't tried the red wines.

Winery Kopp had been our almost last stop in our layover in Hattenheim. The food is really tasteful and the portions are patronizingly. We sincerely can say that these wines are one of the best in Hattenheim. We were sitting outside and we felt if we would have been on vacation. Tremendously satisfaction and a great (almost) last evening (Parking could be little bit difficult, but this is just a really tiny criticism, not really to mention).

This is definitely one of the âmust doâsâ if you are in the Rheingau region. Eltville is already worth a visit but if you head down to the Rhein river promenade, you will see what I mean. The Eltviller Wine Tasting Stand is hosting different wine producers every week and you can enjoy a glass or bottle of excellent Rheingau wine (Riesling!!!). They have a nice seating area with several tables under the shade of the trees and you can watch the boats and ships passing by. Itâs not a restaurant, so they only offer very light snacks. But sometimes, a guy from a local bakery passes by and is selling his stuff to the visitors. One of the best places I know in the region!!!

Frau Gebhardt und ihre Tochter lassen sich immer wieder etwas Neues einfallen. Sehr kreative Küche, alles schmackhaft zubereitet und schön angerichtet. Auch die Weine aus dem eigenen Weingut sind gut.Auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Allerdings nicht im Sommer, da es dort keine AuÃengastronomie gibt.

We had a very nice meal in the garden of this popular and casual restaurant. We arrived without reservations, but the friendly staff found us a spot sharing a table with another couple. The choice of wines by the glass was fabulous, and the pork schnitzel was really delicious.Seating is on plastic patio chairs, and sharing tables seem to be what is done here. It was a lively, friendly place with delicious food and wine. I recommend it for a casual and delicious local experience.
