We tried the wine tasting at this winery and liked the lot of them. Our server was very informative of all the wines and so this was very helpful. I would recommend a trip here to taste the wines if you have not done so before.

I went with a group of girls on the Shawnee Trail and this was one of ours stops. I was a little disappointed. I've always heard the wine is really good, but I just didn't like any of them that day. This place was packed though and their was live entertainment outside on the patio. We would have stayed longer if the wine was better. We'd love to have you back for a wine tasting on us so we can find a wine that you like. Please send an email to [email protected] if you're interested. Cheers!

Hedman Vineyards is a winery and restaurant located along the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail. Opened in 2005 by the namesake of the vineyards, Anders & Gerd Hedman, they have grown into a staple of the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail by offering some of the best food
Hedman Vineyards is one of the better wineries in Southern Illinois. We really enjoyed the Swedish Glogg wine. The food here is also very good, unlike most of the Southern Illinois wineries which only offer a very limited menu. Hedman's has a full menu of Swedish style food. The meatballs and schnitzel were very good.

The Peach Barn Cafe is the restaurant at Hedman Vineyards. Offerings include many traditional Swedish dishes such as Swedish Meatballs, Wiener Schnitzel, & Beef Tenderloin in a Bearnaise Sauce. Dining may be experienced both inside the cafe and outdoors.
The food here is really good. Like we would have licked the plate if we would have felt it appropriate to do so. We had the Weinerschnitzel and the Swedish Meatball. I would provide a photo, but imagine an empty plate because we devoured it. That being said, we were a little thrown off by the ambiance. Not to say it's bad. Just not what we were expecting. The food is really the star of the show though. We especially loved the ligonberry sangria's with the meal. The chocolate pecan tart pictured was delightful as well.

We loved walking around the grounds of this beautiful vineyard. While we can't claim to love the wines (we're from California), they were some of the best midwestern wines we've tasted. The tasting room is beautifully appointed, and the staff was friendly and efficient.
