Reviews on Wine Bar food in Chamonix, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes, France. As host of the first Winter Olympics in 1924, Chamonix will always have a place in the history books. Its main attractions are Mont-Blanc (Western Europe's tallest mountain) and the many ski areas that face the Chamonix Valley. Steep slopes and extreme weather conditions suit advanced skiers best, but there are also runs for beginners. Just make sure everyone in your party knows a green circle from a black diamond. Oh, and another note for the history books—Pierce Brosnan was here (filming a James Bond movie, The World Is Not Enough).

We found this wine bar open on Easter Sunday and we are so glad that we did! The owner welcomed us and our two french bulldogs to a quiet space. We had two different apero plates with local beers from a microbrewery before switching to wine. There was a nice selection of wines and it was a relaxing environment - away from the touristy spots in the city. We were able to relax with the dogs while enjoying local meats, cheeses, beer and wine.We will definitely be back (and probably more than once!) on our next trip!Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are glad that you have had a good time with us and that you enjoyed the selection of wines as well as local and Italian specialty slates. I will not fail to share with the artisans of the microbrewery, that you particularly appreciated the quality and balance of their beer. Looking forward to welcoming you again.

We really enjoyed our meal at Le Chaudron. The escargots were tender and garlicky, and my truffle risotto was nice and cheesy. My boyfriend asked for a green salad, and was brought a very large bowl of nicely dressed greens. My boyfriend ordered the beef with a green peppercorn sauce and liked it, while my friends had the chicken with chanterelles. The service was attentive and friendly.

I ate breakfast here every day for almost 2 weeks while skiing in Chamonix. The cafe has a great location in the heart of town, excellent breakfast food, coffee, and smoothies, and the owner Emily is welcoming and offers tips on the best places around town for dinner, activities, and skiiing too, since her husband is a professional guide. Awesome cafe, highly recommend! Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and we greatly appreciate your support. We look forward to seeing you again on your next visit to Chamonix!
