Reviews on Wine Bar food in Bologna, Province of Bologna, Italy. While crowds of tourists fill Venice, Florence and Rome, Bologna remains relatively quiet in comparison. This medieval university town is charming, historic and fun to explore… and you'll find Bologna's local cuisine is light-years away from the American deli meat bearing the city's name.

We've been here on each of our visits to Bologna and just noticed that it's been a few years since we commented on it. When we first went years ago, it was a place where people (mostly businessmen, as I recall) would gather to sample different wines from (mostly) Italy. There was a small counter where you could rest a small plate of various treats: mortadella (excellent!), special salumi, cheese (marvelous Parmigiano Reggiano). Gradually, it has accommodated more customers who want these superior quality delicacies as much as the wines by the glass. Now there are quite a number of seats, reflecting perhaps a shift in focus? Anyway this is one of the best places to understand the relationship of Lambrusco and the food of this area. They have all the best labels of Italian wine, if you want to go that direction (there's Champagne and bollicine, too), but do try the various Lambruschi they offer. Oh, and plenty of bottles of wine from all over to take away, along with a well-edited selection of special food: pastas, chocolate, savory and sweet sauces. Yum.

Verra propost
What a place! What a welcome! Small restaurant, a little outside Bologna. Everything is home made. Bread basket delicious, Everything we ate was really good. First we shared a sélection of dried hams, salami, and local cheese, very tasty. And then I had beef tartar, hmm...and finished of with homemade pasta with asparagus.. And Paolo recommended us some local wine, which was very interesting. If we come back to Bologna I would sure like to come back here. Thanks for a great evening.

I was quite please with this small vinoteca. I was amazed at the quality mans uniqueness of the dishes they were able to produce in a small prep area. My wifeâs gnocchi with Four cheese sauce was ephemeral. A great value.

This is not a traditional Italian restaurant. There is no pizza, and in fact not much pasta. I couldn't find a green vegetable anywhere. What I did find though was some spectacularly good food, each dish carefully prepared and presented, and extremely tasty without being overwhelming. Being on my own I sampled wine by the glass, of which there were three sparkling, four white, and four red. I cannot speak for the entire selection (although I wish I could), but I did try one of each and was very pleased. Great unobtrusive but helpful service, nice courtyard (smokers apparently welcome), great overall experience. Highly recommended.

We stumbled on this place on our first night in Bologna. We were a group of 8 friends and the staff made us feel very welcome. The food we ordered was excellent, well prepared, well presented and served with a smile. We were made to feel so welcome that we returned everyday of our stay (sometimes just for drinks but we still received a very warm welcome from all the staff). There was also live entertainment on Thursday evening. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and the staff made the effort to get to know us and ensure our stay was enjoyable, despite none of us being able to speak Italian.
