An industrial bar located in the heart of Salamanca, complemented by heritage sandstone foundations. Open seven days, Grape is a wine bar and lounge, boasting a powerful tapas style lunch and dinner menu. Youâll struggle to find a more extensive wine list
My friend and I called in for a pre-show drink but as I was hungry I opted to have a small tapas meal, the Hawaiian Chicken Skewers. They came quite quickly, were freshly cooked and were a full meal in themselves. The chicken was plentiful, moist and delicious. The accompanying greek-style salad was unexpectedly generous in size with a great balance of flavours. The salad and chicken complemented each other beautifully. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and could not believe I had been so well fed for $18. I will definitely return. Service was friendly and timely, and always with a smile.

I recently visited this establishment while on holiday and found the practice of substituting Makers Mark Bourbon with a poor quality tasteless product was rife. This practice is becoming more common as bars struggle to make a profit. Most patrons are oblivious to what they are drinking and wouldn't notice. This is a great spot but struggle to see how it will ever make money although I may have uncovered something.Hi Andre, Thank you for the review. We are very sorry you are so misinformed. Welcome to Botanica Bar and Restaurant Salamanca Hobart . Situated in a transformed Georgian Sandstone Warehouse, inspired by the beautiful surrounds and mystique of Salamanca, Botanica features the best of our local distilleries, breweries and delicacies
On our recent trip to Hobart we visited Botanica twice. Great wines...the house pinot gris and house pinot noir (Icon) were fab. Small plates shared included calamri, fat chips and aioli, popcorn chicken with chilli...all fresh, perfectly cooked and great flavours. We were there on a busy Friday night..table outside..lots happening, a great spot to people watch and enjoy a drink or two. Prices reasonable ...this one is a must in Salamanca!

BAR - Daily 11.30 am till late - Bar menu, Wine, Cocktails, Live music - walk ins welcome RESTAURANT - 7 Nights 5.30pm -9.30pm - A la carte menu, bookings recommended
This place surprises. It's a lot bigger inside than you'd think and the standard is exceptional (no surprise there really if you've been to Frogmore Creek at Cambridge)! Staff were very well informed and service was courteous and efficient. So many dishes to choose from - they all intrigued me!Well, I had to start somewhere so it was the Pirates Bay Octopus Carpaccio with five spice gel, avocado puree, bottarga, basil and potato croutons. This was accompanied by Spanner Crab and nori with soy braised daikon, sesame wakame, kewpie, kalini and salt cured egg. Delicious! We chose a side dish of Broccolini with burnt butter and smoked almond crumble. Nice texture and beautifully presented. Then it was time for the Three Rivers eye fillet crudo with egg yolk gel, Argentinian chimmi churri, cauliflower crisps, crispy capers and garlic snow. Yum.We then shared the honey brown mushroom tortellini with nasturtium salsa verde. wild mushroom broth, crispy enoki and kale. The flavours were sensational! We finished by sharing a decadent dessert. The Frogmore Cigar. I think the photo speaks for itself. The wine was reasonably expensive but the meals are all great value for what you get. Superb flavours, ideas, presentation and service. We'll be there again soon!Great views and ambience and I'd recommend for a romantic date evening!
