Le Longanier Restaurant is located in Cai Be, on the way to Can Tho or Chau Doc. Set in a lush tropical garden by the river and surrounded by fruit plantations, Le Longanier is a gorgeous two-story villa modeled after a turn-of-the-century French colonial
This restaurant is hidden in a small street in a tiny village. The last thing you would expect to find here is such a great restaurant. A beautiful french colonial style villa with traditional furniture. They offer a set menu of typical South Vietnamese food. Beyond any doubt some of the best food I have had in Vietnam in the past 2 years and I have had many great experiences already. Friendly and competent staff. Ate here during a work visit in the Mekong Delta and definitely coming back with the family here.Dear jjw1969,Thank you for your review. We are delighted to learn that you had enjoyed the food and setting of Le Longanier Restaurant. We are also thankful for your kind words for our service team.We look forward to welcoming you back with your family soon. With kind regards,The Management

This is an historical house in the Mekong Delta. It has the typical, traditional Vietnamese style architecture. There are elegant carvings on the walls, wooden pillars, doors and a gate. Lots of ceramics are displayed inside and the house is surrounded by a beautiful garden.
While traveling in Vietnam and visiting friends and family I was taken to this little road side eatery. If you are in South East Asia you will see these places EVERYWHERE and they usually look dirty and unfriendly. What is nice about this place is it is on a paved road so there is very little dust. We sat down last night around 7:30pm and it was cool and quiet aside from the scooter traffic. I was pleasantly surprised at the food we ate. We had steamed clams and grilled squid. The clams came out in a ginger and lemon grass broth and was terrific! I will try and attaché photos as soon as possible! The clams came out in a boiling metal dish and tasted so good we had seconds. We also had the grilled squid and that was wonderful as well. The two orders of clams and one of squid was around $15USD plus a few waters. Honestly, if I was not heading back to HCMC I would have stayed longer. The owners are very quiet and pleasant, highly recommended. Be a traveler and enjoy!

Thóc Cafe is a coffee shop in the center of Vinh Long city. It is near Tien river. There are many drinks and food. When you go to Vinh Long city, you should have to go Thóc Cafe.
Very nice staff who translated the menu in English for us. We had eggs with bread, and orange juices. All very good. They turned the fan on for us when we arrived. Caring staff, good food, nice venue.

We planned to stay here for three nights, but left after two. We paid $25. for a 12x12 all cement room, behind the house. It had a fan but no windows. The temp. was extremely hot and suffocating in our room. I really wouldn't consider this as a Homestay. There was no interaction with the family at all. Breakfast and supper was provided and was basic. The tour that he organized to the Cai Be market was disappointing. He ordered the local bus to pick us up to go back to HCMC and he made a huge commission on that. We were charged $160,000....should've been $70,000.Bathroom and shower was outside, at the end of the walkway. Did not include any soaps, nor did we get clean towels or pillow cases. It was very uncomfortable staying there.
Very good, small dishes. Japanese style, but underrated. This small restaurant deserves more excellent ratings.
