Recommended by a colleague, we ventured out of our typical Chinatown sphere to this Lao/Vietnamese restaurant. We were excited by over 120 dishes presented on the menu. The waitress was very friendly , too. Then the food started to arrive.... quickly, I mean TOO quickly. Hmmmm.... I found the seasoning too salty in general. Hmmm.... the crispy fried rice came with no accompanying fresh veggies (normal?) and nem nuong had very little veggies, too. Perhaps I have been erroneously led to believe that these dishes are supposed to be accompanied by a heaping plate of fresh veggies, but for someone who loves to eat lettuce and herbs with nem, crispy rice, etc., it was disappointing. The dishes tasted "ok" and it's worth coming back to try other 110 dishes we didn't try.

After reading other reviews on Trip Advisor I went to this small Vietnamese restaurant on rue Nationale and was not disappointed. I ordered vermicelli noodles with beef and spring rolls, together with coconut juice. The noodles were very good -- plenty of cooked ingredients and nice crunch bean shoots and salad. The service was swift and courteous, the menu is in Vietnamese, French and English so no problem communicating what i wanted with the friendly staff. Recommended.

We went to the restaurant at the end of our stay in Paris with my brother who recommended it.We sat at tables outside which was nice on that warm day.Choosing dishes was difficult as there is plenty of choice and many things I'd never tried. It would have been tempting not to eat too much because on the same evening, we had a booking for the excellent sea food restaurant "La Sole Meuniere" in Calais. However, the food was good and so were drinks offered. I can't remember all that I ordered but I was not able to say no to a dessert. 3 tresors (3 treasures) was my choice if I remember correctly.

Visiting Paris, I always go out to the area near the Place du Italy, where many Asians live and where you can get Asian food at Asian food prices rather than Paris prices. I love Phó, the Vietnamese soup meal which has noodles, and a bone broth with onions and anise flavor. Although meat is the classic recipe, other proteins are available. The boiling soup is poured into the bowl over raw thinly cut meat, cooking it. A plate of bean sprouts and some greens, like basil, Thai basil, mint, and other greens accompanies the bowl, so you can tear them up and use what you like. I like them all. So we picked one of the only two Vietnamese restaurants listed in the Red book. This restaurant is small, so if you come at prime meal time without a reservation (if the take reservations) you may have a short wait. This restaurant was also recommended by every other restaurant review book around, but I canât recommend it. Judy had spring rolls, and although flavorful and crunchy, it was too crunchy. They didnât wash the greens used in he spring roll very well, so she was crunching sand, but in only one of the two rolls. Sort of makes you wonder about what else they didnât wash. My Phó had a very flavorful broth but not the best Iâve had, the meat wasnât thin sliced and not many greens were given for me to insert. I give it a B-. It was very surprising that it was the only Vietnamese restaurant in the Red book and both dishes werenât successful. Perhaps the Michelin raters were known, or they got a good meal, or arenât interested in trying too many Asian restaurants, or donât know the cuisine. Maybe Iâm wrong, but there are too many other places in that neighborhood that weâve eaten at before that were really good and didn't make the Red book. I HATE crunching down on sand. Inexcusable! We wouldn't go back, period.

We have tried this restaurant a couple of times - they have a good price vs quality ratio, but they put too much spices/salt, therefore you are very thirsty afterwards. Nems, pad thai, pad si dishes were very delicious, not the spring rolls though... they had strange ingredients inside - hard to describe, kind of secondary products you would never use in your kitchen...

We took a Pho soup and a caramelized pork. To be honest I had bigger expectations for the pork dish, it was not excellent. Soup was a kind of real Vietnamese one.

Pho Bom is an authentic Vietnamese restaurant located in the centre of the Chinese quarter of the 13th district in Paris
I've been there 3 times. Good pho (although I haven't been to Vietnam and therefore can't compare to pho from there). The sate pho is also very good. Service is not perfect, quite cold and speedy, really in the "eat pay go" mentality. The restaurant is quite stacked, don't go there if you want a calm place, if you want to take your time in a relaxed environment. All in all good quality for the price, perfect for a revigorating weekend brunch.

Discover authentic vietnamese food in a cozy hall at Place d'Italie. We serve freshly cooked vietnamese specialities such as nems, springrolls, bobun, pho, bun cha... All dishes and desserts are homemade.
All the reviews I have read about this restaurant are absolutely true. The young couple who welcome you with a great smile are not only charming but also efficient !!! The food is very similar to what one eats in Hanoi. Start with a selection of their appetisers. Then Try the « bo bun » you wonât regret it .... the flavours are great, the portions generous... itâs a whole meal by itself !!!! I usually have beer with my Asian food ....They have a reasonably good beer called Saigon, tastes great with the meal !!! Enjoy the experience. I will certainly return to this cosy little place.

Yet another return to this amazing, but tiny restaurant. This time we find that the ownership has changed hands which was a little worrying at first, thoughts that were very quickly dispelled. Service was almost immediate and as previously very cheerfully presented. Although there was a large family gathering of a dozen or more taking place service to our table was very quick. We chose five plates, Pad Thai, Bo Bun, Seua Rong Haï (Crying Tiger Beef), Chicken in Ginger and a selection of Lao starters, crispy beef and Lao sausage. We may have ordered more, because all the food is so appealing, but the tiny tables will not accommodate much more, which is a great shame. All the dishes can be spiced to your own level of pain/pleasure. With two beers the total cost was 59â¬, an absolute bargain. We will return many time in the future. The « HEAVEN »!?! A huge huge thanks for your sweet comment ! Next time, we will make sure that all the dishes could be in the table itâs a pleasure to serve and give you the best.Hope to see you Soon.Cheers!LC
