We dined here for dinner on New Year's Day, being one of only a few places open on the public holiday for our date night. We went not long after opening and were surprised to see an empty restaurant. The young lady who greeted us was very polite and made us feel welcome as she seated us. She explained the specials and after taking our order I noticed something very unique but really impressive: we were sitting beside the windows and I realised how absolutely clean the glass, tracks and sills were. I have been to many venues who neglect to clean these spots and when you're seated right next to it, you kind of notice it! Okay, cleanliness aside, as our meals started arriving the restaurant started to see more customers arrive. The food was beautiful. We had the satay sticks, duck pancakes, beef pho, and tamarind chicken. We would have stayed for dessert but we were really full! Great service, great food - will definitely be returning. This place definitely deserves more patronage!

First impressions are paramount and Alan the owner did an exceptional job at welcoming us and offering some menu choices. For entree we had the Hanoi Rolls. These are like a spring roll on steroids ie. About 3 times the size, generous delicious filling and a nice crunch from the fried rice paper wrapping. You have to try these The mains of Sapa Mixed Noodles, Lemongrass Prawns and a small Jasmine Rice. Both dishes were so tasty and good portion sizes. There was about 8 medium sized tender prawns in the Lemongrass Prawns dish and is served in a bowl with sliced cabbage pieces and grren beans in an delicious coconut curry sauce (similar to a laksa sauce) but next level due to the lemongrass and mild chilli flavours. This is really a stand-out dish The beer is served in a chilled glass ⺠and the table water was cold and topped - up frequently. We can honestly say it was a pleasure to eat at Sapa and will be back again for a fantastic lunch.Well done to Alan and the team.Thank you so much for your extensive and wonderful review. The restaurant was empty and rightly so. We were in the mood for Vietnamese food but it was very un-authentic, very westernised. Watery curry and lots of gross chopped up black hairs in my food which I didnât notice until I took it home. Those black hairs are still grossing me out. Donât bother.Hi A R, We apologise our food isnât up to your standards. Linda and Ly who are the chefs have come from Vietnam themselves have extensive experience cooking Vietnamese food. Like many restaurants, they have tailored the food to meet Australian palates and preferences. Rest assured they do not put black chopped up hair in their food, what you saw was the sate chilli paste which are very fine and dark and when stir fried may look like short fine hair. If you have a photo of the food you ordered please send it through to me at saigonbites@gmail to investigate further. But we wouldnât be operating this family restaurant for 6 years to serve our beloved customers our hair. We hope you do try again and perhaps try our home made Pho which is a Vietnamese authentic traditional staple. Kind regards, Lucinda Luong
