Things to do in Con Son
Two streets down from Dive! Dive! Dive! and next to a billiard hall, this restaurant does a bustling trade with many locals, some of whom spend their evenings there with friends drinking and singing. Has absolutely delicious food: seafood, beef, pork, seafood and vegetarian options (try the sand lobster or crispy fried squid!). They have a limited English menu but between the staff, guests and pointing you can usually get something really delicious. Don't stop on the island without visiting this place!

I have been Con Dao 1 time last year. Our impression was very good about foods. Both of lunch & dinner were delicious, enough & cheap. Because i forgot name of last restaurants, so this time i found infor by internet, choosed top restaurants, but missed checking Tripadvisor. It was my big mistake. I didn’t note about price & quality of foods. But about quantity, they were not for 2 people, they have standard for all of, 1 or 10 is the same. Before choosed, i suggested reducing quantity but they said can’t, didn’t advise any thing for customer. Fortunately, i orderd 3 item only. But didn’t feel comfortablr. About taste, nothing special.NEVER COME BACK AGAIN!!! BYE!

Ate here several times over a week on Con Dao, simply because it was by far the best we experienced. As foodies, we really appreciate great, local food, in local settings. This is a restaurant for locals (although there are menus in English). Lots of friendly locals / families, all eager to help us if we ran into any minor difficulties. Our favourites - the mango snail salad - to die for - and was so large we asked for some of it to be packaged up as take away - and it was even better next day as flavours developed overnight. Seafood fried rice was fabulous, as was stuffed squid w garlic and greens. Only expensive dish we got caught out on was the whole steamed fish - but it was enough to feed 4-6 pax (was only two of us) - it's 900K VND p/kilo, so a 800g fish for two was a luxury! However we had a whole crab the prev night, and it was only 200K VND for a great feed, plenty of delicious sweet white meat. Great service, staff spoke English, Chef was great. Can also buy fire water (ginseng wine) here, as well as local beer in cans (20K each).
We stayed in the hotel in Con Dao and went out for dinner. Cay Bang Do was our choice due to good location just on the beach with garden. The restaurant was clean with nice view and nice staff. The food was just OK.
Friendly service, cheap price, open all day (closed around early afternoon time), full of locals come for breakfast. Nice broth soup (not put too much MSG inside, so if you are an MSG lover then you may be disappointed, but I'm happy with that) Snack of grilled baby squid with sauce which sell here is also nice to try.
Came for a snack but ended up just ordering drinks...trash bin full of empty cans in the seating area, because of this many bees were chasing us around. Also trash on the floor. When I wanted to pay I had to go to the owners as no one was around. They didn't even bother to stop playing cards...
Two lovely ladies and a boy, freshly made tasty food, actually the only vegetarian place on Con Dao. Menu is also translated in English.

This restaurant was recommended to us by Gordon at Con Dao Dive and we are so thrilled he did! The slipper lobster was to die for as well as the fried rice. I wish I could have another iced ginger tea right now! Delish!

Stopped at Villa Maison for lunch after a 5km bike ride from our hotel. The hotel and restaurant are Uber stylish, with a shady patio, surrounded by a central courtyard. The Western and Vietnamese menu is varied, with a great deal of options. Our meal consisted of a great burger, seafood papaya salad and stir fried garlic morning glory. Our meal was complemented by an excellent wine and amazing service.
