Cooking 25 years. Cheap eats in the heart of Auckland CBD. Asian style street food. Cooked fresh to your order, served hot to your table. Open 7 days, fully licensed, Everyone welcome!
This is mainly Asian street foodJapanese Korean Malaysian IndianWe had Malaysian Laksa because we adore it. It was nicely spiced with thai paste, coconut sauce, noodles, tofu and chicken. The portions are huge and you are given a spoon and chopsticks. It isn't posh at all. Canteen type tables and chairs and you find your own table definitely no airs and graces. Each portion was $12 ...... 6 English pounds. You can get drinks there too. There is a clean toilet upstairs.

Food : Ingredients are very fresh and the dishes are well made, however its way overpriced. Over 6 dishes ordered. Ambiance: The tables and chairs are super crowded and no place to put coats/bags. Super poor aircon and ventilation. All our clothes smelled heavily of oil and food after dining. Loud atmosphere. Dessert/ drinks : the Che is delicious, but again at $12.5 itâs obscene. Both the Egg coffee and Vietnamese coffee (with condensed milk) are no different from elsewhere you can find in Auckland. Service: prompt but cold, most staff look overworked and none looked happy to be there. Overall its just hit and miss.Xin Chao 210rayj,Thank you for writing us a review. Monsoon Poon is a busy, bustling, noisy place but it has great atmosphere and great food. Everything including the decor is Asian fusion. We really enjoyed the curry puffs - best I've ever had and a wonderful goat curry. Service was very good. Highly recommended.
