We had dinner there with our friends at the end of august. The evening was pleasant and the food was surprisingly to our liking. The tasty pasta dishes were absolutely handmade but we could taste only brigoli, tortelli and gnocchi. The environment, on the whole, was relaxing although there were many people. Too bad for the waitress: a bit sulky and unfriendly :(

We first went for a 'snack' on a baking saturday afternoon, having driven from East of Siena. We climbed up some wooden stairs to a small outside terrace and were immediately seated by a very jolly waitress. There was a joyful party for locals celebrating twenty years from high school graduation inside, but this did not seem to interfere with the efficiency of the place. We were quickly seduced into ordering a huge fish (a Dentrice - or Dentex, a snapper type fish) which was cooked on an open grill by our waitress' dad. It was fantastic! I buy fish all the time in London, so 'know my fish' although of course we don't get this one at home. Desserts are basic, but excellent coffee and , again, of course, local wines. We were going to try another restaurant, Frantoio, for a dinner a few days later. We had eaten there, a few years before and had liked the shady garden, and the slightly more inventive menu, interpreting Tuscan cuisine, but were, frankly put off by the indifference of the owners when we stopped by to book. So we went back to the Torre de Carla. Once again we had a lovely meal - my wife and friends had Rombo (turbot to us) - a wonderful fish, and i had a bistecca - although I was told not to have the Fiorentina, by our waiter (not the jolly waitress - although her dad was still on the grill) as it weighs 1Kg - more than a 67 year old can cope with. Again a local red wine which stood up very well and was not expensive - Veruzzo (curiously, a grape used in the Veneto for Prosecco). Again, basic desserts - not really their strong point. So another very enjoyable meal in a friendly place.Oh yes, if you park in the (expensive) town parking lot rather than on the street, you get the parking free if you go to the restaurant. (we discovered this after we had paid 11Euros

We chose this place based on Trip Advisor rating. I must say, it was the first time when we remained disappointed. The restaurant itself is kind of sad - tables are located almost in the parking lot, the benches are extremely uncomfortable and the whole terrace, where the table are located lacks of any decoration effort. There were three of us, we ordered the platter of tuscan ham and cheese and crostini as starters, two portions of grilled lamb cutlets and one pasta with summer truffel as second dishes. The starters were ok - nothing in particular, but ingredients were fresh and tasty - which is more is a merit of the area, than the restaurant. But the main disappointment of the evening came afterwards: the pasta was bland (which is extremely rare in the dishes in which truffel is involved), and the lamb cutlets... first of the portions were extremely tiny, which again, doesn't usually happen in local agricultural restaurants, and secondly some pieces of lamb were not actually cutlets, but some other parts of the animal. And the portion of grilled vegetables side was extremely tiny as well.Overall, I don't recommend this place - it is a pity to be dining in such a banal place , when you can have an amazingly tasty meal almost in every trattoria in the area, while enjoying a beautiful Tuscan landscape instead of parked cars. The only positive aspect was the price - the restaurant is not expensive at all. But in my opinion, it is not enough a reason to spend your time there.

We enjoyed our first taste of Italian food. The flavours were magnificent . The staff very friendly and patient with the language challenged! The menu had English translations which is necessary for us. The tables outside on a warm evening was a great spot for watching the world go by.

This is the fourth year we have visited capalbio and we always eat with great pleasue at this totally unpretentious but high quality restaurant. The potatoe and ricotta filled pasta with grated truffle melted in the mouth and was perfectly balanced in flavours. The roast rabbitdelighted my husband and the vegetables were all well cooked and tasty. Excellent half bottle of a local wine and rich tiamisu to finnsh a perfect lunch. Very friendly waitress and charming location. Can't do better!

A great sea food restaurant near Capalbio. The venue is nice, with a veranda where one can enjoy sunsets. The food was very good and copious, though not great, and the wine selection very adequate. The service really shines, making guests very welcome. Over all a great restaurant in beautiful coastal toscany.

Simple, a bit bland but totally genuine. Salsiccia alla griglia particularly good. House red wine works well with the cooking. Cinghiale alle cacciatore, crostini, agnello alla grigilia all fine but no comparison to Guido at Magliano for example. We didn't try any of the pasta which we regreted as we saw it go by; we'd definitely go back to try the pasta. Service excellent and always there, very friendly, chatty a really pleasant lunch.

We had dinner here twice and each time was better than the last. The quality of the dishes and the freshness of the produce were incredible. This family run business is well worth the drive.
