It is almost 3 years since my last lunch at Tenuta Buonamico in Montecarlo. We have been visiting to purchase their Particulare Rose Brut sparkling wine that we enjoy a lot, but now as we live in the same commune and the opening of their new resort with 11 apartments and a new restaurant (Syrah) it was time. Not only was it my birthday. But also, we brought along a visitor from Norway that also had birthday the same day. All this plus an enjoyable lunch with tasty food and wonderful wine made us stay for four hours and missed out on a wine tasting as they closed at 17.00. The new restaurant had only been open for two days so it was expected that we visited in a period when the restaurant is getting shaped. Taken this into account we are very pleased and will bring friends along or just do a Sunday walk with a stop here.Watching the staff, both on the kitchen and waiters it indicated some new some with much experience. Do not expect a Tuscan menu. But expect food prepared of local ingrediencies. For the main course I had Tuscan beef cheek and it melted don my tongue. Had it once at VarVara in Moscow, but this beat it. Octopus for starter was also good, but the Monkfish my wife had was not up to it on the day. The desert menu looked like some gourmet trials that not ended all that well and they have some improvement to do.But as mentioned it was the third day into business so I look forward to taste some more of the dishes. On the wine side there is nothing to say, that is just fantastic both the withe and the red (and the Particulare) we had two out of the 350.000 they produce each yearLook forward to being backâ¦wonderful birthday celebrationDear Kjetil,it's was a peasure to have you again especially here at the new reastaurant.thank you to have choose us for your Birthday.Weare glad that you spent good time with us. We have just opened so we need to improve our services to satisfied everybody. But we are happy about our begin. I hope you will come again to try our idea of hospitality and our kitchen. Have a nice dayKind Regards

Family environment, managed with passion and professionalism. Wide selection of Tuscan antipasti and fish, pasta dishes tuscan and fish main courses of meat in all quality wood oven pizza and baked soil. Valid selection of red wines, white and dessert. We
Food and service excellent. Reasonable prices. 3 of us had rare t-bone steak ( cooked in the wood oven) and sliced on a board with char cooked porcini served with salad. Oh my goodness. Totally memorable. Simple food cooked to perfection.Run by a father and son. Very good, efficient and friendly service. We all thoroughly enjoyed eating here.

Tried only this restaurant once when staying in Montecarlo all September. The food was reasonable, but not more than that. And no wine-card. The young waitress told us, they only had 1 red wine. So strangely enough, we asked for a bottle of that. But then we saw the guests at the other tables got different red wines! When we got hold of the "senior" waiter, he explained, that she meant all their red wines (and white) were from Montecarlo. So in her opinion, they were all the same! Managed to get the wine changed. But he took our full glasses and the half filled bottle and returned with half a bottle! So we could easily walk in a straight line back to our flat. If you sit at a table outside, it is very stormy (the wind always blows down the main street). And if you try it inside, the music is too loud! So it definitely did not become our favorite restaurant!

Staying in a resort nearby, we ate at Trattoria DeVero after reading good reviews. We werenât disappointed. The service was great, with very tasty food (and possibly the most tender, succulent lamb weâve had!) and it was also extremely well priced. We would definitely return if in the area again!

La Nina is a truly memorable experience and one to be highly recommended for both tourists and locals alike. The restaurant itself is very impressive, the ambiance is very special and the service is impeccable. The menu has clearly been carefully thought through and everything I have tried was delicious and beautifully presented. Make sure you leave some room for dessert. If you are looking for amazing food in a special environment, this is the place.

The restaurant is one of the most important focal points situated along our estate. It is located in an ancient renovated country farmhouse. It is the perfect place to re-discover the fragrances and flavours of the Tuscan cuisine of long agoâ¦â¦ a time when
Many different employees move about. Wait staff are conversant in English, if somewhat stiff. No warm, homey feeling here although everybody was professional enough. Food was okay, nothing noteworthy. The setting was very nice and they seem to have a large enough following although looking at what some people were eating, their choices didn't seem to reflect the local cuisine. I tend to ask for recommendations. They were given in a rather matter of fact fashion, not the expected enthusiasm such questions usually elicit.

Fattoria Il poggio agriturismo,ristorante
The location, the food and the service here are all good. But the experience is spoiled by busloads of tourists, noisy and boisterous. This is good for business of course but those of us wanting a quiet Tuscan meal will go elsewhere in Montecarlo.

Found this little gem based on great reviews here and it was truly amazing. By far the best meal we have had in Tuscany! The Service, the food and the scenery made it an absolute perfect meal.Their Insalata de frutti di mare is a must along with any of their pasta dishes.

Two weeks ago I visted Ristorante Forassiepi together with a family member. I did write a review, but based on communication with the upset chef I deleted it and will by this rewrite my comments on the visit.I have lived more than 60 years by the Noth Sea, so fish and other âseafoodâ are well known. Due to different reasons I have cooked in the kitchen for more than 50 years but I do not call myself a chef, yet. The last 6 weeks, and two more to come, I have enjoyed learning more about the Italian kitchen so I am better prepared to invite neighbours, friend, family or other visitors that would like to dine with us in Montecarlo.I am also pleased to see I have catched up with 100.000 readers on my reviews on Tripadviser that I hope read my reviews as I read others. To find good or challenges with restaurants I like to vist when I am in a particular area.So back to Ristorante Forassiepi. Over the 17 years visiting Lucca and the area this was my third visit the Ristorante Forassiepi. Previous I have been reasonable pleased even it is 5 years since last time.I was very pleased, even we were prepared to come back. The person who took my reservation noted wrong day. Just the way I want it. See a table empty for 3 hours instead of have other people dine in between is waste. We wanted to check out their menu and taste the food. So two hours for us should be more than enough, normally. I poped into the chef just briefly before we were seated. The restaurant is obvius a place for fine dining. The clients this evening also indicated this. The menu is interesting and we appreciated the introduction soup, nice presentation and very good tast. For starter I had choose Octopus. I very often do that when I see it because I just love it. And this was prefect cooked, just delicious. Primi was our first disappointment. Both of us had risotto and it was not cooked enough. The plating was not as you expect a first class restaurant and the tast from what should be a marinated salmon disappear. I had picked Scampi (Nephrops norvegicus). Taste ok, noted is that you can choose from fruit or vegetables along with the scampi. I had fruit, so dolce along with my second and it lifted the dish completeness. However, again I was very disappointed with the presentation. I eat a lot with my eyes so I have different expectations depend on what kind of restaurants I visit.Second, disappointment of the day was when my family member ordered Lobster. As mentioned, lived by the sea expectation of a European Lobster when Lobster is put on the menu is there, so if any would like lobster at Ristorante Forassiepi, ask what kind of lobster are on the menu this day. Looking at their video on Facebook lobster is European Lobster present, but that was not what was given us. In general service is good. Based on the high priced menu it is easy to see they spend a part of that with having staff available, both in the kitchen and the front. Chef Antonio Pirozzi, has his 35 years pluss in business, but as years goes it is not as easy to watch all and keep a hand on everything. That we did not turn any dish back to the kitchen, sorry about that, just not something we do. I rather tell the story what kind of experience I have and leave it with that. This time was a âcosi..cosiâ experience, hope to visit again and that it will be better. White wine from Enzo Carmangiani was good and was a good match to our dishes.

During two weeks in the Montecarlo area we had a good number of restaurant meals and this was the most disappointing. There is an attempt to give the tradditional lucchese cuisine a modern twist but, as my coffee flavoured risotto attests, this doesn't always work. The 85 euro bill for two was way too expensive.
