Wellingborough is a market town and borough in Northamptonshire, England, situated about 11 miles (18 km) from the county town of Northampton. The town is situated on the north side of the River Nene, most of the older town is sited on the flanks of the hills above the river's current flood plain. Due to frequent flooding by the River Nene, the town was mostly built above the current level of the flood plain. Originally named "Wendelingburgh", the settlement was established in the Saxon period and is mentioned in the Domesday Book under the name of "Wendelburie". The town was granted a royal market charter in 1201, by King John of England.

Great food, great staff, the Turkish wine was also great, as was the sensible bill!The Niwan has great reviews, because it it really good.It is unlikely that we will be in the area anytime soon, but if we are we will be back..However, be warned the portions are generous.

Just visited for the first time for my daughter's birthday and we had a lovely evening. They kindly decorated the table and she received a free cocktail. Food was amazing and so was the service. A big thank you to Rafa and the rest of the staff for making us feel so welcome. We will definitely be returning.

The upstairs restaurant part of this kebab house is a little hidden gem. Offering a well priced and varied menu, the food is all fresh and really tasty. They provide a lovely selection of bread and dips on the tables and the portion size of the meals is very generous. Lovely atmosphere and attentive and friendly staff who were more than happy to accommodate our large group and celebrations.

Number one Turkish restaurant in Wellingborough. I've enjoyed the food a lot. Everything was freshly made and shish kebab done over the BBQ. Delicious salad and heavenly good baklava. Welcoming and friendly atmosphere. All together, amazing experience. Highly recommended restaurant.
