The Shmayaa Restaurant is a hotel restaurant. The Hotel Shmayaa is a boutique hotel located in the old town. It is a restored old Midyat House. The restaurant offers typical authentic dishes and drinks. The name of the hotel/restaurant originated from the "sky" in the ancient Syrian language (Suryani). After tasting various delicious food of the restaurant please do not forget to drink their authentic coffee. If you make a visit to the restaurant for the dinner, you might also enjoy your dinner by listening live local music.

It is a historical inn constructed in the early 20th century. Since Midyat is famous for masonry construction, the GeluÅke Hanı (Inn) is another masonry construction. It had been used as a market area till 21st century. Then, it was restored and served as a nice restaurant/café. You can find many authentic dishes at the inexpensive price. The fountain at the middle of the courtyard provides cool environment in the warm days. Midyat located in the warmer zone of Turkey. Thus, do not hesitate to visit to Midyat even in the winter seasons.
We had kaburga dolmasi, guvec and ayran as a drink. Kaburga dolmasi is delicious, the meat is so tender and fat content is just a little, perfect mix. Service is good and staff are polite. I think you would not be disappointed.
