Stopped and had lunch at this restaurant on the way to Buriram Airport with the family and in-laws.We ordered roast duck, crispy pork, noodles and 2 sets for suki-yaki (Steam boat).The roast was nice but they tend to put too much gravy or sauce on it making it too soft...The noodles are great... so is the suki-yaki. it has very nice soup base.One other important item when having suki-yaki is the dipping sauce and this, MK does well...

Our tuk tuk driver dropped us here after the original restaurant we were heading to was closed. Great meals, not cheap by Thai standards but well-priced in comparison to home (Australia). Lovely, friendly service despite the language barrier.

Visitors to Thailand may have heard of Tawandang German Brewery - a chain with two outlets in Bangkok and one (formerly two) in Singapore. Bangkok has other nighteries with "Tawandang" in the name - such as Esan Tawandang. The latter features Isaan Morlam music in its live shows, and also features the usual Thai macro brews and other drinks and eats. No microbrews.This place in Surin is related to several others around the country, including Esan Tawandang. Some reports claim that there is a relationship between these places and Carabao, for decades one of the best known Thai bands. This place is smaller than either of the two Tawandang German Breweries in Bangkok (which, between them seat about 4000 people). But it still seats about 750 people (by rough count). It's a pleasant place for food, drinks, live music, and a lively vibe. Don't expect the food or drink to be "cheap" as that's how the performers also get paid. That is, normally there isn't a cover charge (though we saw a notice for a special event which apparently would have a cover charge - which seemed reasonable for the event).

Other reviewers have called this restaurant friendly. I call it intrusive.No sooner had my three Thai guests and I walked in and sat down than the Australian owner, Danny, came over and introduced himself. That was well and good. But he then dragged up a chair and sat alongside me for the entire lunch with my Thai friends. I learned his whole life history, from his days as a national serviceman in the Australian Army to his role as a "bookie" in Darwin. I can understand that maybe he is deprived of western company and that being a fellow Australian he welcomed the opportunity to chat with me. But he didn't take the hint when several times I turned away and tried to talk to my Thai friends, who later commented on how much he had to say for himself.Danny's Thai wife knocks up some standard and competent Thai fare at reasonable prices and the service is quick and efficient.We had deep fried chicken wings, lemon marinaded pork salad, sour fermented pork with cucumber and Chinese broccoli with crispy pork.With a Leo beer and soft drinks the bill was a modest Baht 510.

We are here whilst visiting surin. This restaurant was highly recommended to us by a friend, but when we are here it was not as good as we thought it would have been. It was really busy so I'm guessing it is very popular.We had a few things from here curry,shrimp, steak, soup.. And few other things. I had a curry and was up being very sick that night, my partner enjoyed his steak.Service was very good and the staff friendly.

New restaurant in Surin serving gourmet French food with an Asian twist. Wide selection of wines, Thai, Argentina Australia and Us beef. I had a salmon trio for starter and Australian teen eye to follow, cut table side and perfectly cooked with nearside sauce. Creme brulee to finish. The only one in Surin with such a high standard. Staff speaks perfect English

My wife and I visited the Green Terrace on the advice of a friend. We were not disappointed! Excellent food in a beautiful garden atmosphere with water features, comfortable seating either outdoors or in air conditioning. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They offer a wide variety of Thai dishes and some Western food as well. We shall return.

Starbeam! Before I talk about the food, let me talk about the service. We had our GPS to walk from the White Elephant resort and were doing well until we got to Soi Saboran and our GPS told us to turn left! (if only we had looked right, we would have seen it). With 4 hungry adults after a day at the MotoGP we rang Starbeam to ask for directions but with the language barrier was a little difficult. We tried to follow these but got even more lost. Saw a motorbike taxi and got him to speak to the restaurant - after 15mins on the phone he just shrugged his shoulders and pointed back the way we had come. We kept walking and next minute a lady on a scooter calls out "Starbeam". It turns out she was the owner of Starbeam and was biking around the streets to try and find 4 lost tourists! She took 2 of us on the back of the bike to the restaurant and then came back and picked up our husbands! - Great Service.As for the food - well, it was delicious. We had local Thai dishes while our English friends decided to go for some traditional English food. All meals were well presented and very tasty. A small, but very nice place and very welcoming.Thank you again for the fun ride on the scooters and the delicious food :-)

I spent a day in Surin with my wife and came across this lovely place. Glad we came in. I really enjoyed the Schnitzel. I couldn't have done it better. The owner couple also came around to make sure everything is good.Thanks again :)
